Best location for a relocated Ripcord...

They actually could rebuild the area by installing permanent seating centered on the stage and incorporate the projection/sound room in the back of the seating area. I think it is not really a projection tower, but rather a control room for the lights and sound.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Thanks Pete! That was my point, since it was a blank slate when they built it. The control tower could've been above the bleachers (think PA booth at a high school football field).

Keep in mind the bleachers weren't originally intended to be there at all. Wildcat was still there and ready to open for the season until about the week prior to opening day when they announced it was being removed. Then Wildcat was demoed in the days before opening day. This was kind of my point from my earlier post. The whole area felt put together at the last minute which resulted in poor design choices.

It still confuses me as to why wildcat never opened that year.

Somebody posted a week ago that they saw construction on Ripcord starting in the former area of Shoot the rapids. I was just wondering if you there were pictures posted about this somewhere or if someone has a past live cam shot in that area? I want to see it. :)

You'll probably have to wait until Winter Chill Out.

I have a screenshot of construction on STR's site from a few weeks ago, but I'm not gonna post it for multiple reasons.

That's cool dude. I wouldn't expect you to break the rules on here.

Well, maybe as the ride begins to rise in its new location, someone could snap a few pictures from across the bay?

I don't think it will really be a bad spot for the ride. It actually may be cool having it fly over the lagoon. It will look better than a rotting away ride that is for sure.

It could also be temporary until they build for the future in that location.

^nailed it!

I was just there its over by where shoot the rapids was

If that's true, they got a whole lot of work done on that site in 3 weeks. When I walked by the former STR site on Dec 4th for the RWC event, there was concrete removal work going on. I dont see how they could have removed all that concrete, graded the site, pour footers and let them set, and installed the Ripcord tower in under 3 weeks.

In three weeks, a lot of work can be done in the construction world. In just a regular 40 hour work week, with a good sized crew, you'd be amazed of what gets accomplished by contractors.

A Skycoaster can literally go up in two days once ground work is complete.

And the only positive to take away from that is it can come down even faster and all that's left is a flat level grade for the parks future use.

You mean they aren't leaving it there forever with no chance of ever building a roller coaster!?!

Taking into consideration the size of the former StR spot with how much space a skycoasger takes up. I would like to think the plans weren't to place Ripcord right in the middle of the land. I'm sure it's going to be a "mixed attraction" area if I were to guess
