Best Route to CP from KI

This year we will be traveling for the first time directly from Kings Island to Cedar Point. We will be going for a few days first to KI then a few days @ CP.

My question is: What route would you guys recommend I take to get to CP from KI? I'm looking for the easiest, fastest, gas friendly route. Thanks in advance for the help!

In my opinion you have two decent options.

#1 - Rt 250 out of Sandusky down to Rt 71 straight to KI....BORING!

#2 - Rt 6 to the other side of Fremont where you'll catch Rt 12. Take 12 into Findlay where you'll catch 75 and take it South towards Cinci. You'll have to take 63 East off of 75 just North of Cincinnati to 741 South to get to Mason but at least this way isn't overly boring.

I'm from Cincinnati originally, so this is an easy one for me. I usually take I-75 N all the way to Bowling Green, and then I get on 105 East up to Route 2. Then take Route 6 to the park. Works fine for me. Once you start getting close, there are a lot of alternate routes to the park, but that's what I usually take.

4 --> 23 --> 270 --> 312 --> 71 worked awesome for me last week.

I would say I75 North 2 1/2 hours then East on Rt 6 near Bowling green. Then you are about a hour away.

The most gas friendly (and convienient) course for you, because people here seem to have millions of dollars to waste on gas is to take I-71 North (runs parallel to Kings Island Drive) to 250 North. That takes you straight into Sandusky and about 2 blocks west of the park. That is probably the fastest way to go, but watch out for the cops and speed traps, they are bad.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Mapquest says the I-71N and 250N route will take me 3 hours and 47 minutes.

Is that about right? Long drive!

^Depends on the traffic on 250 in Sandusky but going off of my knowlege that my home in Perrysburg is 75 min from CP and 3 hours from Kings Island it sounds about right.

I take 4 down to 23 down to 315 which is a straight shot through Columbus to 71. Takes me about 3 and 3/4 hours.

Reverse is just as easy. Enter Columbus on 71 and look for the 315 signs. 315 will spit you out on to 23. After that you can take 98 up to 4 or just stay on 23 until you hit 4. When you reach 2, go east one exit to 250, or just work through town to Monroe St. and go east.

Since I am a Columbus native and pretty good with directions, time, and money, I would sugggest taking...

71N, then get off at 37W towards Deleware, then hop on 23N until you get to 4N where you'll take that to rt2, then follow the signs to Cedar Point!!
