Blue Streak Lights

I've noticed recently that the lights on Blue Streak are on (even the flashing ones), while none of the other rides at CP seem to be lighted. I'm just wondering if anyone knows why this might be? Seems like they'd want to save the electricity with the park being closed for winter.

Would it be because the Restuant; "Oak Harbor" is Open all Year around and they would like to show the Coaster because it is right by the place.

It's just something they do. They leave them on, more or less, as a nice touch.

It's not uncommon to see quite a few lights on real close to the holidays, either.

In that case, for the holidays, they should turn on Dragsters countdown lights but leave them on.:)

The countdown lighting on TTD is controled by the launch button. They could at least turn on the lights that point up the tower. It would bring at least to some life to the peninsula.

I know that.........but yeah I'd rather go with the large tower lights.

I'd like to see all the lights on during the season before I see them on during the off-season.

Not to mention ride names or anything...but maybe MF and Power Tower would be a good start.

Oh, did I just mention specific rides?

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

ha ha ha ha!! good one.

That's "Bay Harbor", in the CP Marina by the Blue Streak.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

It would be nice to see holiday colors on Millennium Force.

I know that they leave the lights on Dragster all night. Just the tower ones cause of the planes. The lights on Blue Streak look to be real old ones and they are on so you can see the track and stuff. Most coasters dont have lights on them. It must be a safety thing to keep the lights on Blue Streak on all the time. If you look far away Dragsters lights shine up in the sky like beams coming down from a space ship.

When you say they leave the lights on Dragster all night, are you referring to the flood lights, or the strobe lights? I'm not an expert on what the FAA requires of tall structrues, but I think the strobe lights are for aircraft, and the flood lights are just for show.

The 3 strobe lights, one at the top and the 2 halfway down, are for aircraft,we woudnt want an airplane to run into TTD.

C'mon, John - if TTD fell over, it might hit something valuable.

Then get it to fall in the right direction.

I would think the right direction for it to fall would be Iron Dragon and the gigantic view-blocker (aka the night show screen). Of course, it could just finish a lot of the work for crews by falling down on the rest of itself and start clearing out the station and the concrete.

I think they will leave more lights on when someone else starts paying the electric bill.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
