Cameras and CP's Coasters

I say go back to the old policy of no loose articles permitted in any line. Weed out everything at the entrance like they do at Dragster and Millennium. Get rid of the bins and all that crap.

Not only do we all know that that's not possible with the current budget and staffing... but I'm sure guest complaints would increase exponentially!

I don't doubt that. Although there's really no good way of dealing with all the extra crap that guests insist on carrying with them without ticking a whole lot of people off. Like someone else said, many guests pretty much have an "I'll do what I want" attitude.

Why get rid of the bins? I do agree to make people with B-balls and huge giant stuffed monkeys put them in their cars or something and not let them ride.

But what about the people with hats or sunglasses. Some pants dont have pockets and it would be stupid if you had to put your hat/sunglasses in your car everytime you ride something and then go back out and get them. They are to keep the sun away you kind of want them in a 2 hour line with you.

^^Oh yeah Space Spiral is really 2 feet off the ground. I know its inclosed.

I meant if you were to ride it your couldn't drop anything but a few feet because it's inclosed, or do you have another way of going on it so you can drop something off the top ;)

so you'd like me to say that all employess in the park are 100% enforcing the park policies and have never, ever, been at fault for allowing any single guest to break a single policy.

I just said that they are, (and, yes, believe it or not they are) at some fault, like it or not. The bigger problem is the guests, but to take the park out of the equation, as with the smoking policy, is just assinine.

I don't disagree with you that there maybe some employees that don't enforce the policy as they should, it just seems like the way it came across to me is that you were saying that it is employees in general that don't enforce the policies. In reality we can do everything possible to protect our guests safety and once our rides leave the station, its up to the guests to follow policies.

I have a relatively small point and shoot camera (Kodak C633). If I were to put that in one of those sock case things in a cargo pocket, would that work?

I do know that I've taken my iPod in a sock on even SRF and the sock and player remained dry. What I really want to know is if what I mentioned above will work on, say, TTD and Maverick. :)

The thing that bothers me the most are people who play games and win huge prizes in the morning, and then proceed to walk around with those huge stuffed prizes all day long.

^Of course that would work on TTD or Maverick, as long as it is secured in a cargo pocket it will be fine. Cargo pockets however, can not replace putting it in a locker or leaving it in the car.

Then buy a 3 dollar strap for the glasses, and take your hat off and put it down your shirt....problem solved.

CP doesn't need to become the next holiday world.

Okay. Agreed. I understand that people do some really dumb things as far as loose articles go, and there is no exception for that at Holiday World.
But when I was visited they were pretty anal about it. I think it might of been since I was there during Coaster Con this year, and they expected all of the enthusiasts to pull their cameras out at the first chance.
Now, at least they don't give you any crap about having to get out of line to get a locker and stuff. They have a good system of leaving your stuff in the station comfortably.

Edit: We had an older digital camera come out of the pocket of somene in our group on Magnum once. If the question of bringing a camera is still even an issue, try to get pants with pockets that can snap or button shut or something.

Last edited by CP Tay Tay,

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

In '06, at least, the straps were under $2 with tax. I dunno if they went up that much, but still, a few bucks to wear glasses on Dragster is a pretty dang good deal in my book. They really do work well.

I usually take my hat off, undo the "buttons" on the back of it and attach it to either the hand rail in front of me or attach it to my belt loop. I spent 75 cents at Wal Mart and got a strap for my sunglasses.

My Sony DSC-W50 has survived all the coasters at CP in my pocket. You could bang it had enough to damage it though, but if you keep it so it doesn't have room to flap against your body than you are safe.

On the note of Maverick leaving the station and getting in trouble....I was riding this summer and I find the OTSR when pushed too far down can put too much pressure on my legs. While waiting to be unloaded this pressure gets to be very painful to the point where I am begging to get off the coaster.

Anyways, somehow a ride op noticed the extra slack that was allowed and the train was stopped leaving the station just before the launch. The whole ordeal took no joke like 15 minutes. They came out and pushed my restraint down and than the ride was stopped for an incredibly long period of time. Wasn't bad sitting there on Maverick looking at the lake. The entire coaster went down for such a period of time which made me feel bad about the situation.

Those Maverick OTSR's once they are pushed down on your legs real hard can get painful, does anyone else agree?

Has anyone ever seen anyone get yelled at for using a camera on the 3 car rides that Cedar Point has? I did it once, a long time ago and without knowing that it wasn't allowed, and no one said anything. I don't do it any more, but i still see people doing it all the time.

I know, the guilt has haunted me since I did it back in '98. ;)

I always pocket my camera and have never had a problem.

i saw them stop gemini on its hill, and an employee ran up the hill to yell at a guy who was using a camera.
