That is what I was thinking this is a really big shock its like comcast cable buying disney but I don't know why they did this. I can see why though. Now if only they can buy Six Flags Magic Mountain ;)

All Season Totals for Dragster 37 rides:)

Number of rollbacks = 1 on the 23th of July

Number of trips to CP this year was 27 times!

Go to my new site and post! Email me about it and I will give you a link. Sorry it won't let me post here.

My thoughts exactly Brian! Hmmm, I wonder if this gives CP a place to give more emphasis to "family friendly" rides as well as to give more room to the coasters we're anticipating between now and 2007. (I'm NOT saying CP is out of space.) Of course, WOA certainly will only be hugely improved by becoming part of CF. Should be an interesting remaining off season and summer.

Toodles!

Awww, bad day? Take a different perspective on things. Try upside down, a barrel roll, a cobra roll or a corkscrew. Life can't be all that bad when your feet are over your head!

Now we can finally quit bashing that park!!

For those wondering why CP did it, Wouldn't you be very interested in obtaining you main area competition if the circumastances were right?

Will this kid ever sleep through the night?!?

Here's an excerpt from what I just posted on CBuzz:

Notice that the hotel and campground are included in the deal. This is a great way for CF to market Northern Ohio as even more of a "vacation destination" to folks from out of the area. As I understand it, the hotel revenue is where the real profit growth has been recently. Perhaps this is a way to further drive that end of the business? Now you've got to come for 3-5 days to "see it all", not just 2-3.
SWEEEEETTTT!!! My Season Pass will work there now!!!! :-)

Passes will not work in 2004 from what I'm hearing...2005 at earliest...

I'm wondering how they will handle the animal exhibits??? I know they had scaled back on that level of operation since the last of the dolphins at oceana.

I miss Sea World there though.

"Six Flags will retain ownership of all animals currently located at the park."

Does this mean the animals will be removed?

I'm assuming they will be removed and relocated to other Six Flags parks, hence my concern over the aquisition of new animals??? The entire sea world side of the park is geared almost soley toward animal exhibits, and not rides.

With the animals gone, and assuming Cedar Fair doesn't bring in animals of their own ... that opens up one giant amusement park. Lots of potential for resort development (especially with the built-in lake) and expansion of the "rides" side.

On coasterbuzz I stated I think the best move would be to close the wildlife side of the park until Cedar Fair can think about the future of that area. Premier has treated it like a RollerCoaster Tycoon game.

Don't expect any Dragster's at WoA because Cedar Fair won't have any more luck with local government on the height restraints than did Funtime or Premier.

I am going to sit back and think about this for a while and get back with some thoughts.

"You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world...but it requires people to make the dreams a reality."

I kinda did see this comming with SFlgs stock so low, sooner or later they either had to raise capital or were facing a takeover bid. My main reason for not visiting that park in the past was due to the lack of guest service/cleanliness. I personally saw a ton of line jumping by kids and the language/general atmosphere was poor. Also the paths were far to narrow in places. Hopefully they will have that fixed in the first couple of years.

I'm glad they changing the name of the park back to the orginal. I didn't see anything about this but I wonder if they will section off the water park there and make it an extra charge of leave it as is right now and be included in the price of admission.

Is saw this coming also, and this could only improve Geauga Lake. I am saddened however that the Sea World side is apparently gone. That was the only reason I visited SFWoA, and even under Six Flags the animal shows were fun to watch.

Yes that is very cool about the name...

Yes, I miss Jungle Larry's at the point. Albeit that it was certainly no major zoo, it was fun to take a break and visit the wildlife.

This is GREAT!! Even if the park does not improve the quality of rides, just think about how much cleaner it will be, and how much more educated the employees should be. Really, the rides at SFWOA, while they don't compare really to Cedar Point, my main problems with the park was the employees and the dirtiness of the park. Of course, because this is Cedar Fair, I can only assume that there will be new rides added too, which is great. Perhaps they'll add a new ride at Geagua Lake during the years that they don't add a new ride at CP.....One can only hope :o)
