Cedar Point on a rainy day?

Eh. A hoodie works fine. It wasn't really the rest of me I worried about, it was the fact that my shoes and socks were soaked through almost all weekend. That really sucked.

Well, its not only me that I'm concerned about. I've got my gf, and a couple of friends - one of which isn't nearly as enthusiastic about CP, and may require more incentive to ride through the rain.

I am going on Wednesday, and am hoping that it doesn't rain all day. But I think the park will be empty.

Well, here's my update:

Cedar Point in the rain is AWESOME!!!

Got there at lunchtime on Friday, it was raining a little and TTD was closed. Went on everything else, MF, Skyhawk, Magnum, Wicked Twister, MaxAir, and some other rides. Didn't wait longer than 20 mins for anything. Then at around 6:30 we were on Power Tower and noticed that there were people standing in line for TTD and they were about to launch the first train....which was a roll-back, we were on top of Power Tower waiting to drop but were more interested in watching TTD....we then ran to TTD and waiting about an hour, we had about 4 more trains till our turn and it started raining, they closed it but said we can stay in line if we want, it was 7:30 and the park closes at 8, so we waited but a lot of people left. They re-opened at 7:50 and we got on, it was definately worth the 9 hour drive!!!

Saturday it rained most of the day, TTD only opened for about half hour in the afternoon when the rain stopped. By suppertime everything was short or no lines. We were there from 10am to 10pm and had a blast!!!

I think we will schedule our next trip when there is rain in the forecast!!

Sexy Sadie, what have you done?

Sounds like you had a great time. I was expecting the rain to be miserable, but it was probably the best trip to Cedar Point that I've ever had. I'm glad you had a similar experience.

I remember one rainy year my 2 sons and I rode the Mantis 4 times in a row and we got soked and had a ball

Sadie - I was in that same TTD line at 7:30 Saturday night. We got there just as they shut it down & there were a lot of people that emptied out of the station - but at that late date I figured we might as well wait since the park closed at 8 anyway. They started sending trains with only the first few rows full - that sure had the people in the station confused:-)

It was definatley the best CP trip we've taken also, even with the rain!

I was there weekend as well; it was pretty amazing. Me and my cousin waited in the TTD line for the line Sunday morning, and were among the first ones in when it opened midday after the rain stopped. Decided to go with the first train, figuring it would roll back, but the second one got it after we launched in manual :(

I was standing in line for MF during a down pour. After it had been raining for about 15 minutes they came around selling ponchos to the already soaked crowd for about $5 bucks.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
