Cedar Point vs. Kings Dominion

Has anyone been to Kings Dominion lately? If so, can you give your opinion on what it is like compared to Cedar Point?

It's an alright park, I prefer Carowinds to KD anyday, so if making the long jaunt to that area, I'd go a bit further south IMO. I posted reviews of both on ParkFans if you care to read, no reason to copy & paste it all here and take up space. KD is good for a few things I feel. I-305, Grizzly, V:TBC, and Anaconda are the only good things there IMO, the rest, including food & atmosphere is almost Kinzel quality still I feel

Both parks are great! I'm guessing you've never been to KD, so I'll cover that.

If you have a Platinum Pass, your first line of business is to park at the "Gold Pass" parking lot. Yes, your Platinum Pass will work there too! You will need to drive towards Dominator, then turn right and go to the opposite side of the main gate, almost like you are exiting the parking lot. It has a lift gate, just swipe your pass and you are in. You are super close to the main gate.

You could easily spend two days at KD, or one day if you indulge yourself in Fast Lane. Most of the rides are comparable to what is at Cedar Point. Intimidator 305 and Volcano seem to be the 'signature' attractions for the park, but do not miss some of the lesser known rides like Avalanche and Grizzly. Both of which are a little difficult to find and are often easily missed when visiting. If you plan on marathoning i305 you might find that easy as people don't tend to fill up the queue for an 2 hour wait like you see at Millennium Force.

If you're feeling nostalgic about SFWoA/Geauga Lake you will find Dominator and Americana (the ferris wheel) at the park. If you get some time, definitely hop on the elevator to the top of the Eiffel tower replica to get a gorgeous view of the park.

Overall its a very complete park, the only thing I would like to see added in the future is a B&M invert. I've never done the water park, but that is included in your pass and seems to be very busy too.
