Cedar Point/Put N Bay

Yes just called them. I guess you can only stay long term if your staying at the resorts. Ugh!

Call the ferry and ask them where you can park your car downtown and leave from there. Why use up a parking space at a place where parking is scarce (especially on weekends). The Marina and the Resorts have enough spaces for the people that have paid to be there, the lots are not for general CP parking.

On a side note: on Sunday and Monday the parking lots for Lighthouse Point, and Sadcastle were being patrolled at the entrances so only registered guests can park there, same as last year in July. Preventing overfilled Soak City Shores from spilling over.
The CPS premium parking lot is awesomely close to the resort gate and it is definitely nice to have your car so close when heading back to your room instead of walking or waiting for a shuttle.

kjettski, I can give you info on what to do at Put-In-Bay, etc. but I always stay on my boat, so I have never stayed at a hotel there and don't have an opinion of the accommodations. Through second hand knowledge, these hotels are worth checking into: BayShore Resort, Islander Inn and Put-In-Bay Resort & Conference Center. I you want some more info on what to do at PIB, just send me a private message with some questions.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I actually stayed last year for 2 nights at the Put in Bay resort and conference center in July. I am a hotel snob and I was actually surprised at how clean and nice the room was considering it was the Christmas in July Weekend.

We parked our cars at the Jet Express long term parking lot in Port Clinton. Very cheap to do that. Took the jet express with our luggage. Stayed at put in bay for 2 nights then went to CP for 4 nights.

Any questions you have you can ask away to me as well. This was our first time staying over night but we have been going there for the past several years.

Dave

Heading out tomorrow! Decided on doing the ferry out of Port Clinton... Closer to home when coming home (we're from Michigan). Going to CP in the morning and probably going to do the 6 or 6:30 out of Port Clinton. Only 40 min from CP and the ferry goes out every half hour so much more convenient. Also, only 15 minute ferry compared to Sandusky which is 40.

Thank you.

I have limited free time so I will most likely give PIB a miss this year. 2 days in the park is (to me) more fun than walking around a (pretty) island. There's also the issue of transit time. 6 hours v. 3 hours.

PIB does however sound fun.
