CLosing Geauga lake

there has been many rumors that the park is going to close. Why are they selling off some of there best rollercoasters? I was just there recently and the old water park is half there. The Coasters that were there and the monorail is just a faded memory. Does any one know whats going on there? please let me know. I would hate to see this park close. thankyou.
