Corkscrew idea

Ok, so everyone thinks Corkscrew is too short and jerky. I believe Corkscrew could increase ridership if it was smooth. After looking at the new 10 inversion Colossus, I think CP should rip out Corkscrew, and replace it with an intamin replica! What do you think? This way, the inversions will be smoother, and it would still be a great looper for beginners.

Of course, I think Mantis's paint job and Disaster Transport need more attention at this point than Corkscrew.

That sounds like a good and fun idea, but think of how CP would change. Corkscrew has been around for many years and it's almost historical in a sense. I have mixed feelings about it, I guess. :)

I'm not everyone, so there goes that theory.

Corkscrew still gets lines on busy days, and they still run three trains. There's no reason to remove it. There are plenty of other places to plop a multi-looper or woodie, thanks.

Since when did "jerky" indicate that a coaster was bad? Maybe I am old fashioned but that is the way all coasters were prior to B&M. As much as I like the Beemers, I sometimes think they are too smooth.

Corkscrew is short and sweet, but I've never ridden a jerkier ride in my life, aside from MS. Don't take it out. Fix it, if possible, or build anew. Corkscrew is history, no matter how shaky it is. ;-) MHO.

A lot of people use Corkscrew to break thier kids into coasters with inversions. The kids usually love it and ask if they can do it again and again. I think Corkscrew is needed for that reason if nothing else. I like Corkscrew and would be sad if CP replaced it for the next Biggest Baddest coaster. I guess the point is all the "lame" coasters do have a reason for being there. :)

"break their kids in?" I'm sorry... that just sounds like they're shoes or something! LOL!

Corkscrew could do with some, er... ironing out. Sort of like a shirt with wrinkles. You don't toss the shirt out in the trash, you grab the iron!

Corkscrew is classic... I still ride it at least once every trip, just for that major airtime between the first hop and the loop. :)

One ride they do need to tear down and rebuild something else in it's place, is the Mine Ride. It's not even really that fun anyways. :(

I love the Corkscew. I sit in the back everytime. It's great! I hope they don't change a thing

I think Vortex @ Kings Island is just as jerky, only it is a much longer ride.

YOU DO NOT DO THAT!

I will now have to go console my poor Mine Ride now. As if it didn't have enough problems this past season, and now with someone saying things like that about it. EVIL I TELL YOU!

And also, we got more riders than Mean Streak. SCORE!

Hey now, Mine Ride not fun? Boooo. MR is the true classic :)

I think getting rid of Corkscrew is unrealistic. Even if you don't ride it, it's cool enough just to sit under the corkscrews for a few minutes and watch the trains. Plus it's awesome at night.

Cedar Point just wouldn't be Cedar Point without the Corkscrew. Although there are better rides out there, it's a signature ride. I have heard that it is becoming a little "unhealthy" structurally speaking, however, if it must be replaced, I would hope it would be with an exact replica.

There is no bad coaster at Cedar Point.
What jonC said.

The CP Corkscrew was my first coaster with inversions. Although I agree it's jerky, I just can NOT imagine not having it there. As for the Mine Ride, that was the first coaster I actually LIKED when I was a kid, and the helix at the end is still great!

Call me nostalgic, but I'd hate to see some of those old rides go.
