CP Fun Guide?

When does the CP Fun guide show up? I ordered a couple of them online to different addresses and they haven't showed up yet. I am going to CP the first week it's opened and I really want my Fun Guide by then. Also, is there any kind of park discount for Pepsi cans? I heard if you bring a special can you get 10 bucks off admission. Is this going to be good again this year? Will I be able to get the can at any random store in Sandusky? Thanks.

I'm getting mad because I have ordered serveral about a month ago and haven't received mine yet either.
On the pepsi cans, its $13 in May,and $10 in June... with the nice MF logo and everything on the can. This is a little bit off of the subject...but can u use the pepsi cans to get like $13 off of a season pass?

"Welcome back riders, DID YOU ENJOY YOUR FLIGHT?"
Where I live (southern Ohio,) specially canned Pepsi products, inclduing Pepsi Cola and Mountain Dew, have surfaced.

With the substantial increase in ticket prices, many discounts and promotions were expected. I think that $13 off is quite a bit. At least it makes that $38 not look so bad (which I guess is exactly what they're going for.)

No, these discounts cannot be applied to Season Passes.

I have received my brochure I ordered online, but have yet to receive a Getaway Guide.

What stores carry these specially marked cans? And can they be used for a Ride and Ride again? I'll be coming from PA in May and would like to know where to stop on the way in.
Can it be any Pepsi can or does it have to be a specially marked can?

My CP Getaway Guide, with its "Special Discounts for Canadians", arrived in the mail Monday (the 10th). All the way to Toronto from Sandusky.

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.
I just got mine today. My suggestion is to order it over the phone. TALK TO ONE OF THE CP REPRESENTATIVES! I ordered about five with that automated thing and didn't receive one. Then I order one from a rep and it got to my house in five days.

As for the park map, it is the same as one the official website. There are a whole bunch of mistakes on it. MF is all wrong on the island. And only two coasters have trains - MF and Meanstreak.
When I ordered over the phone using the automated assistant, I recieved a single envelope with a brochure (Raptor's loop on the front) and a newsletter type thing which said "A guide for planning your 2000 trip to Cedar Point." I was expecting to recieve the Getaway Guide which I remember as being more of a booklet (maybe 15 pages) with coupons in it along with a map. Should I still expect to recieve this or should I just call again? Thanks for any thoughts/experiences...

What could be better than Y2K @ Cedar Point - America's Rockin' Roller Coast?
Haven't seen mine in Houghton, yet.
Nor the Ohio Tourism guide, either... frickin' state.
My suggestion is to order them again by talking to a CP rep.
I live a couple of miles away from the Point, and I got mine in the mail two or three weeks ago. If you are looking for a Pepsi can, I'd recommend stopping at the new Shell HiMiler off of Rt. 2 (Rye Beach Rd. exit), they always have the cans. Then, continue on your journey to the CP Chaussee!
Anyone have a phone number I should call?

This year's park map has been dumbed down from the past year's maps.
1. MF and Meanstreak are the only ones that have cars on the tracks (they both have 10 cars).

2. Part of Raptors returning track goes through it's vertical loop.

3. Space Spiral is about half the size of MF when in reality it is taller by 20 feet.

4. The lack of scenery and trees makes it look too cartoony.

5. As I mentioned before, the island is al wrong.

6. Mantis's slanted loop in midcourse starts at the top instead of bottom.

7. Mantis's enterance is still the same. It hasn't been moved like it will be this year. And if this is the same map they give out at the park, it will direct people the wrong way to the entrance.
Don't forget the Wildcat. It is just a figue eight on the map. Do any of the employes know if they will change back to the old for the Sounvier Map?
Ahhh yes, received my Getaway Guide in the mail today. Here's my review: First off, you will notice that the guide is printed on smaller stock than in years past, but the design and layout more than makes up for one less inch in paper size. CP did a commendable job on layout, and getting across the message that "This is the new Millenium, we have something to boast about in y2k, and we are still the bes in the business" by their useage of that cool font and simple lines as borders and for word separation , not to mention the outgoing despcriptions and text. The pictures as always are of outstanding quality and helped accentuate the resort atmosphere very nicely, although IMHO more empahasis could've been palced on the coasters. Some new shots there would've helped. CP comes alive at night during the summer with a whole different personality and beauty; in the future, a few night shots would definitely be an awesome addition, too. Now onto the map: I stated this before in a previous post, but it is probably the only aspect I am truly disappointed with. When I was younger, I used to spend hours on end gazing upon the map in awe before and even after our trips out to Sandusky. I also know that alot of us still do that. I think that's where my concern for the state of the map stems from.
Looking at it from a logical standpoint, there are definitely a few reasons for the departure from the old fromat. REgferring to last year's map, lots of eye candy does lead to a perception of clutter by many people, and especially with continued additions it becomes imossible to keep the map readable. Last year's map approached a work of art as nearly as any map could, though, in my artistic opinion. With this said, this year's map left off detail probably to make it more easily readable but also for the fact that they changed the detail/zoom level by pulling up further into the sky. This leads to my next observation: The map was also drawn keeping future addtions in mind by showing more unused space on the peninsula. In conclusion, though, I'm hoping for two things: That this won't be quite the version of the map we see when we purchase our souvenir map come opening day, and if not maybe this is only an "interim" map. Sorry to sound so critical of the darn map, but I guess I've become a highly demanding conossieur of the Point like us all, and having a map that is (not to sound juvenile here) prettier than other parks has always remained a point of high pride with regards to CP.
I'm finished now ;)
