Disaster Transport

I read on a thread the other day that someone wanted Disaster Transport to be the topic of a thread, well here you have it. This ride is definitely overlooked by many people, as well as many coaster enthusiasts. DT is a one of a kind ride, there aren't very many bobsled coasters around like there were back in the day.

Besides Woodstock and Jr. Gemini, this is definetly the coaster I ride the least. I just do not go over to this area of the park that much. I really only go over to this area to ride WT and that is about it.

I still don't think it'd be that bad if they hadn't let all the effects go.

There were a few times when I rode that they had a great deal of the effects on. Other than that, they barely have some of them on. Though I must say I do hate the "proton accelerator" thingy noise in the Repair Bay.:)

I agree, the effects are a part of it and should be maintained. I haven't been on DT in a few years.

I love this ride! I dont care about special effects or anything like that its just fun not knowing where your going. Its just a fun ride though nothing special.

Let's Get Weird.

Its defenetely a fun ride despite what others say.

It's fun, but short and has bad capacity which leads to long lines. It's probably the only ride that I hesitate to go on and my friends don't. ;)

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

It has better capacity than Wicked Twister.

Ride on, MrScott!

Glad I'm not the only one who loves that ill-fated ride to Alaska.

At least it's unique. Put it this way: I'd ride DT three times for every time I rode Hydra or yet another Batman clone.

I'm losing control! I should make that my signature. :)

Disaster Transport isn't my favorite Coaster to ride. I only Ride it when I would ride everyone on the same day. I liked the Coaster when it was an Outside Coaster; "AVALANCHE RUN". The only thing I like about it is the Waiting Rooms, because you can see a few things and hear the Ride while you are Waiting.

Don't forget the much needed air conditioning while your waiting to ride. This ride is geared toward beginner coaster enthusiasts; obviously. It would be a little better if they were to use some laser lighting effects.

We love DT! Flying around in the dark is really cool. And I know CP is not a "theme" park, but I wish they had more rides with theming like DT. Makes you really get into the ride.

It is def. a good beginner coaster as it was my sons fav until he hit about 10. Then he was off to the Millinium. Yet my younger son still loves it & has no desire to head towards the big dogs & he's 11. We ride this twice while brother waits to ride Maxair next door. These middle range coasters are important for families as I have stated before.

TAER IT DOWN! ;)

And sacrifice the hundreds of families that rely on that coaster for a day of fun and excitement, I think we will keep it around for several more years.

I used to like DT. Granted, I liked Avalanche Run better, but oh well. The only thing that annoys me about DT now is the horrific condition its in. I refuse to take CP newbies on that ride because the "theming" is an embarrassment to the park. When you let a ride get THAT run down in a park, it shows you don't care anymore. Its a shame too, because the ride used to be really cool.

Glad im not the only one who loves DT. Im there all of opening week every year and end the night with as many rides as I can get in. The operators said only one person comes close to riding as much as me. I heard he was a little boy. I rode last year 27 times in one night. I wonder if they tell anyone that. Even though most of you will think that is lame I still love that ride

I trust you since you were part of the crew, but WT's line can move very fast with the right crew. I've seen that train get in and out very fast.

^I second that. I've yet to experience a fast moving DT line.
