Do Point Perks usually include discounts off the cedar point hotels?

I am getting a platinum pass for CP, and I wondered if point perks usually include a discount for any of the hotel properties, such as Sandcastle Suites or Castaway Bay? Thanks.

No probably not, they have not put the Point Perks up on the website yet. Last year it was one of the Perks from opening day to Memorial day. When I asked them at Breakers during check-in they did no know about it, then I showed them the website on my phone and she did not believe me. She went and got a manager and she had to go look it up on the web. I got my 10% discount after a 20 min. check-in. So at this late date with no Perks info, I would say that the Hotels will not know ether. We can only hope.

I got a discount last year at Breaker's during Coastermania. I booked online and it did not apply the discount, but I called and asked about it and they applied it. I also remember it only being available in the beginning of the season.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I emailed the Breakers and asked a few days ago, and they did say yes. They told me to get the discount you had to all their res. number. I found if you put PASS into the discount/Coupon spot on the reservation site when looking at rooms it shows the Plat Pass price.

Was there always a fishing charter from the Cedar Point Marina? I have never seen it advertised before...

Also it looks like the point perks are pretty similar to last years, which isnt a bad thing. Im just happy the Skyscraper discount is still there.

A fishing charter? I've never heard of that!* Looks like my multiple weekend getaways just got busier.

*Its probably something that has been around for a long time. ;)

I know it was probably there last year, but I really liked the $10 cup/$1.99 refill at Kings Island. It will be great to have $2 large refills all summer long.

Seriously, after seeing that, who can complain about the price of drinks? $2 for those huge cups? Come on, that's a great deal.

I can complain about it. :)

Sure, it's a good deal compared to their normal absurdly-high prices, but to get that "deal", I have to carry around a giant plastic cup. No thanks.

Add $10 to my season pass and give me free soda. With that, I might even end up eating entire meals in the park. Go figure!

Especially when you go to ride something with that bottle. I will more than likely buy one this year just to get it, but i wont be bringing it back again. The thing starts costing more and more with everytime you need to put it in a locker for Dragster or Millennium. Or riding anyother ride where you need to put it in the bin and then when you get off there is about 10 of them in there of the same color.

Dj that would be great. Or if CP doesnt say free how about a dollar. That would be a very good discount and could probably be a very marketable promotion for pass sales.

That's a great point. I guess at Kings Island the only ride I had to throw it in a locker for was Fire Hawk (which I didn't care for anyways), every other ride had the bins or rendezvous to pick our stuff up from.

Carrying it around was no big deal.

Perhaps, meshing our two ideas, they could offer $2 (or to be a little greedy, $1) drinks in large, disposable, cups with a flash of the platinum pass. That way you can drink it and chuck it without worrying about the souvenir cup having to go in a locker.

Better yet, up all admission by 3 dollars and offer free drinks to everyone.

Oh wait, that'll never work.

^ Does anyone know what they hiked the season pass prices to for those free drinks? $3 on admission is probably very similar, (and much easier) cost wise, to the $1 per drink idea, but I'm curious how much more the season passes were that came with this perk.

These perks are good day one right? Meaning that if i process my pass on Friday, May 14th and then go right to Challenge Park I will get the discount...right?

I remember we had people using the platinum pass discounts on that first Friday night at Ripcord/Skyscraper last year, so I'd say it should be good. You'll probably see me there that evening, although I'm not working till Halloweekends this year.

It would be awesome to see you Chris. Renee and I are staying the whole weekend at Breakers. We'll be at Challenge Park Friday night after we get our passes and then in the park Saturday and Sunday! Let us know where you'll be!

I wonder what they plan on giving for hotel discounts after September? Either way, this discount still doesn't provide the value I'm looking for as a season pass holder. It seems any hotel on 250 still provides a better value.

I think they should compete more, LaQuinta, for that Friday night (the 14th) is only $86 for a room with a King bed, and only $96 for a King Suite with Jacuzzi.

I haven't checked the prices recently for Hotel Breakers and that but it seems like they were breaking the $200 mark.

Given that a season pass includes early entry (one of the most valuable benefits of staying on-Point, at least from my perspective), I can't think of any reasonable benefit that would get me to stay at the resorts. Sure, a huge discount would work, but that ain't likely to happen.
