Early season pass perks and benefits

I'll be getting passes(Platinum) this year for the first time! We'll be turning in our vouchers tomorrow for the actual pass. Will we be able to drive around Perimeter Rd. and do a little sight seeing? We'll be going with a friend who doesn't know the view is different from the 'outside'. Also, I remember from a May 2013 visit, pass holders were getting jackets at a special check in at the gate? Is that a normal perk every year? Or a special day not listed? Also, to avoid parking in the front lot, do I have the option to park at one of the other areas, and not be charged? I won't always be a Hotel Breakers guest, and I like the entry gate by Soak City best for our ride choices in the AM

I have always drove around to the soak city lot when I get my pass processed. I don't know if they want us doing that, but they have never stopped me. I havn't seen the park all winter and its too tempting.

I don't think there will be free swag at the beginning of the year. 3 or 4 years ago They handed out black windbreakers but have not done so since. There was free Gatekeeper jackets last year for coastermania.

You can park in the soak city lot any normal day of operation without paying extra. However, they only want hotel guests parking in the hotel parking.

2008 visits = 38, 2009 = 19, 2010 = 11, 2011 = 14, 2012 = 10, 2013 = 14, 2014 = 14, 2015= 13, 2016 = 11, 2017 = 5, 2018 = 3

Thanks for the info! I plan on this being a great spring & summer! I'm sure this pass will pay(benefit) for itself in 3 visits..and we plan on every other weekend! Just hope to keep food cost down. Not a big fan of walking back to the car. Any suggestions?

Anywhere in the park your gonna overpay for food, even with our discount. your best bet is to pack lunch and use the picnic area. We usually leave the park to eat though. It is a nice break from the noise and crowds. Thirsty Pony is always good and only a couple minutes outside the park.

You could always get the all season meal plan and not have to worry about the food costs.

Last season during the season pass holder appreciation weekend they were giving out the black "Cedar Fair VIP" jackets to pass holders. I don't know if that or something similar will happen this season.

That's what I remember seeing also. Just wasn't 100% sure. Got passes today, had part of front gate hanging wide open! So tempted to run a muck!

Except for drinks. Too bad we don't have any further details on the season meal plan.

Did you do this the first day the park opened?
