I'm wondering if, a platinum pass holder could pay the difference ($8) and upgrade to preferred parking. I'd guess not.

No, you'd have to pay $20.

You are allowed to use the gold pass parking at KI if you have a platinum pass. The thing is that the parking there is one of the selling points for their gold passes and has been for years. I don't see that as a lack of integrity across the parks. They are just using a system that was already in place.

Think about this for a minute. Pretend you are a platinum pass holder and live in Sandusky with Cedar Point being your home park. Any time you go to CP you are allowed free general parking and if you so choose you can pay extra for premium parking BUT if you choose to use your platinum pass at any former Paramount Park you are offered a premium parking experience automatically. Does that really make sense given that "platinum" is the highest status of season pass holders? I realize most people across the country wouldn't pick up on this but in Ohio guests would since Cedar Point, Wildwater Kingdom and Kings Island are close enough to each other.

I guess I don't see what the problem would be in that scenario. When you visit KI you get upgraded parking for free, why would you complain? As far as I can tell Cedar Point has never offered Premium parking before this year. Not to mention Kings Island has their own Premium Parking option that is even closer than the Gold Pass parking as well. It was a perk that Paramount put in place to help drive up their Gold Pass sales, I don't have a problem with them continuing to use it. It's a nice way for people who want an upgraded Kings Island season pass to be rewarded without having to go full platinum if they don't want.

I dont understand the prefered parking... why pay extra money to park a few hundred feet closer park your going to end up walking miles through! The only thing that might make this worth it is if there was an express lane out of the park... on busy days for halloweeknds you could wait for an hour trying to get out of the parking lot.

There will be an express lane out of the parking lot for those in preferred parking.

Just park in Soak City. Thats where I always park.

Agreed. Though for special events (like BooBuzz) where you're forced to park in front, preferred parking could be helpful. Though I'm not clear on exactly where this preferred area is.

So in essence you find it acceptable to offer a guest at one park a premium level experience (ie. upgraded parking) in a less pricey season pass ( just because it has always been that way) than a guest at a "legacy park" who is purchasing a top-tier premium pass? I find it personally to be a value-integrity issue; guess I am the only one.

Preferred Parking is roughly the area shown here in red.

Thanks.

Yeah, that's definitely where we park for special events. Surely BooBuzz will include Preferred Parking (at no additional cost, obviously), so I'm not worried.

It's not like the Gold Pass members are coming to Cedar Point and getting Premium parking for free here. It's just like if they had a Gold Pass at Kings Island and offered them some kind of preferred parking at an upgraded cost over the regular season pass. Of course then Platinum pass members would get to park there too.

It's just a completely different system.

That's funny because i was told by a parking lot attendant at the premium lot that the PPH only had to pay $8.00 to park there.

As best as I could tell, the Gold lot at KI has been disolved into the main lot

Did you guys not see my comment? Or, are you just arguing for arguing's sake? There is no more Gold lot.

Interesting. I heard differently, but for parking related questions, you have the better source. :)

Jason, I saw it, but since he ignored it an continued to argue my points I continued to refute.

Sorry, I'll refrain.

I will just go to the Casinos with my family and maybe 4 times at CP this year.

Sweet, not only can I pay to cut in line but also one less family in front of me in line.

I'm looking at the photos for MF fast lane, but I can't figure it out. I see the two lines going toward the front of the train, but where does the FL one go? They didn't go so far as to allow FL users to skip the regular line AND the front of the train line, did they?

They come into the staton from the opposite direction, along the back of the station.

Where are the pictures you are referring too about the FL queue?

If you guys have read any of my other posts you know that I an a huge fan of the fast pass system. I will use it every time I am at the park no matter how large a party I am bringing with me. I am not doing this to cheat anyone or to show off, I just think that is the best way for me to get the most value out of my limited time at the park. As far as limiting the times the pass can be used, I think that is a horrible idea and I can't see CP doing that in the future. I am coming to the park to ride the big rides that can only be found at CP. There is no way that I pay 50.00 a ticket to have that experience limited and I probably don't come to the park without the pass. I don't want to drive 10 hours, spend a ton of money at the resort and the other activities on the peninsula, and waste my valuable vacation time to only be able to get in 6 rides because i am forced to come on busy weekend due to my job. I am in favor of merging the two lines when they reach the station at the point when you pick which seats your going to get on. I don't like the idea of someone riding a ride 4 times to someone else's 1 (especially if kids are involved). However, the situation is what it is and that is the only option available right now. I am taking advantage of that situation to increase my enjoyment of CP. I probably would have went somewhere else if not for the fastlane.

^ They're on Point Pixels.I understand the setup now; likely would have blown a gasket if I had to pay $50 to ride in the front of MF.
