Favorite food place

Remove the liberal helping of Mayo from Jimmy John's and there isn't much delicious left. :)

True. And I'm willing to live with that for a far tastier sub. Just walk a little bit further and the calories are gone.

Plus, Subway's site breaks it all down. So you have to add up Sandwich, Bread, Toppings, Dressings. THEN you get your final number. JJ has it all as one because they sell Sandwiches, not a slow-as-hell-during-a-half-hour-lunch-break-build-your-own-Dagwood. Difference of style, but must be kept in mind when comparing their nutritional information.

I do wish JJ offered toasting, but that'd just slow things down.

I know some people don't like the franchises moving into the park, but I really welcome these additions.

I could be classified as a picky eater, where I generally get the same thing all the time just to play it safe. Having familiar restaurant names throughout the park make me happy since I know exactly what to expect and know what to order. Plus, I've never been a fan of the park food minus those pretzels and elephant ears.

Why did you have to mention elephant ears this close to lunch time?

If I had my choice of a sandwich shop in CP it would be a Potbellys... yum!

I'm pretty sure they still do it, it's been a while, but Red Garter used to have a mean BBQ sandwich with a bag of chips and a pickle. Add to that the fact that they serve draft beer (even though it's Bud Lite) and it makes for a good lunch.

Yeah, Red Garter has really good pulled pork with Montomery Inn BBQ sauce. Delicious!

If you ask me, Subway is a lame idea for the park. There are already five other Subway locatons in the Sandusky area where you will most likely get the same food at a much lower cost.

I'm not usually one to complain about a chain coming to the park but I would rather it be something you cant get in the area already.

I'm not about to jump in my car and go get Subway when I go to the park. And I'm guessing the majority of people who go to the park will have the same mentality.

If CP were to put a subway in that would be stupid...like most of you have already said..just another subway when there is 5 other ones in the area..just at a higher price at CP..

I believe they have.

But I disagree with the argument that someone wouldnt or wont do it because of price. I can get a 6-pack of bud light for the price of one at CP, yet I will still get one. You can get everything at CP somewhere else (and the quality will be a lot better...aside from the beer) somewhere else for a lot cheaper, yet people still buy things.

Familiarity sells well. People don't like things they don't know. You can find examples of this anywhere you spend money.

Right, because people are already willing to leave the park to save $2 on a bottle of Pepsi, they're obviously going to have no problem leaving the park to save $2 on lunch.

If CP had food that didn't suck, I would also rather see unique-to-CP food offerings, and I'd bet the same could be said for a lot of people. But since everything they try to serve sucks in terms of quality and/or value, I'm all for chain restaurants, no matter how many duplicates exist in Sandusky.

It is all about familiarity. Does anyone remember that CP had their own sub shop where the new Subway is before it was Dippin' Dots? The quality was just as good as Subway, but I bet Subway will sell a ton more simply because of familiarity.

I remember that sub shop Pete and I was dissapointed when it was removed. Was it called Surrey when they served subs?

My favorite food is the french fry booth across from the Gemini. For some reason, I like the flavor of those fries better than those by Raptor or by the Aquatic Stadium.

I actually liked the old hamburgers they served at the Pizza Patio and back in Frontiertown before they switched to the "new, improved" meat patties last year. I love burgers, but that new meat was unedible, high school cafeteria, garbage. I went into Macaroni's to try their joke of a burger bar, but it was the same rotten meat. They tasted more like soy Boca Burgers than anything that resembled meat from a cow.

Yes, I think the sub shop was called Surrey.

Let's Get Weird.

I personally welcome Subway to CP, even with their inflated prices. Honestly, the one time I tried Jimmy John's, I wasn't really impressed. The thing was small and lacked much vegetables. Worse, the thing coasted over $4 for an "8-inch" while a Subway 6-inch tends to be up to $3.69ish. Point being, Subway is a better deal and is more filling.

I like Subway because they allow for customization. You can get what you want, you don't have to just chose a specific set of ingredients like with JJ.

I usually don't mind waiting just a little bit longer for something better. I hate those Visa check card commercials where they freak out like World War III is coming if you dare pay with cash. JJ is annoying because they act like you have to get your food right away. Patience is a virtue, people. Unfortunately, I have to admit that Subway can be a bit slow, especially during busy times. I'm kinda worried that this will be a problem, yet remain hopeful that the operation will run smoothly.

I dunno if anyone would know, but I was wondering if this will be a sit-down restaurant with AC. I hope so. :) I usually don't eat at CP but this might make me change that a bit this year.

I should note that Subway's site lists two Cedar Point Subways. One will be in the park and the other will be in the Employee Recreational Area.

Definately, like that one time with those birds...

Anyway, Cp's corn dogs rule ( see signature)
