Geauga Lake.. Good or Bad?

^I agree that removing rides couldn't possibly have helped PR much. And I may be in the minority, but I know that the removal of both those rides makes me want to visit less.

Actually I hear VERY little talk about the two removed coasters. I think it makes the drive up and the "43 side" more cleaner IMO.

Who cares what it did to PR? It helped make the park closer to profitable by removing costly-to-maintain and run rides.

Personally I didn't care that they removed the X Flight or the Steel Venom. I only rode XF once and my shoulders were bruised and I didn't really enjoy it anyway, and I can ride WT at CP when I want to experience that type of ride.

I think you would care about the PR aspect of removing the rides because of the possible effects on attendance. If the attendance cannot support a given number/cost of rides and you remove a couple of rides, you will save on expenses so if your revenue remains the same, you will cut your loses/increase your profits. However, if your attendance drops because those rides are not there, your revenues are reduced. It can be something of a downward as you reduce the number of rides because you do not have revenues to support them, you may decrease the number of customers and be back in the same place with revenues that do not support the new ride numbers. So you reduce the ride numbers further and the cycle starts again.

I am not saying that is what will happen with GL. And I am sure the CF looked at those issues when determining to remove the two rides at GL. From the posts here, it seems like many people do not miss the two rides which would indicate that attendance shouldn't drop much (if at all) based on the two rides being gone.

I guess that's the risk you take. One thing is for sure, they couldn't keep hemorrhaging all of the money they were. I don't know the numbers (I'm sure they can be looked up or that someone knows them) but cutting a large maintenance budget (I've heard the budget for xflight was the same as the rest of the park) helps in the long run, even if they do overall lose attendance. Attendance is easier to come by then trying to get out of debt when you can't make money due to a large maintenance budget on 1 ride.
