Gemini 100 this year??

Have plans been made for another Gemini 100?? For next (this summer) year?

I can already guess what the response on this will be:
"The Gemini 100 was special, no future attempts will have the same meaning... blah blah blah"

I think we should do another big marathon but on a different ride - I remember some ideas for Magnum and others...

Magnum might be fun :)  I'd join that one.  Especially now that the lines are closer to Gemini sized lines.
Yeah, I'd think it'd be cool to try a different ride this year. Maybe the magnum 80 or if you're really ambitious, you can go sometime in May and try the Magnum 100.
I think I speak for the other 11 gemini 100 warriors when I say we would love to have another marathon but  not on Gemini.

I can do a Magnum marathon in my sleep, we need to pick a ride that has a close entrance and exit and a ride were we can interact with each other.

i'd love to do it this year, maybe.... dt 250??

lol that'd be fun for us DT fans!

but seriously, maybe a magnum 100, (i'm young i can take it) or maybe even (if the lines were short enough) raptor 50 or something like that, but of course we can't even guess what days would not be busy, especially on that ride.

it'd be fun though

beav, last year, a small GTTP group attemped a DT 80, but DT had too long of lines for them to get more than 30 I think.  At least they were proud of it!

Dan can vouch that a Magnum 100 is out of the question - not only would 100 rides be VERY hard to achieve, but even if you are young and in good shape, it would be very hard to last - much harder than Gemini.

If we couldn't find a good coaster to do it on, why not Power Tower?  Although it might get a little boring eventually, and I guess it's hard to interact on...

Hmmm - what about Blue Streak?  Not too fast but still exciting, short lines, and a close entrance/exit.

2002 - :o)
Oh yeah, I'm up for the Dragon 100, maybe 150 :)  I LOVE THE IRON DRAGON!
How about doing a DD 100??  I like to do that with some peeps, but I have heard that it takes a big toll on the body.
You have to have the endurance to do 100 on Magnum.  The second day of the season this past year I did 72 laps in 8 hours and Anne and the crew said I was walking around like I was punch drunk for the last two hours.

By the time MM hit I had 82 laps the very first night and I did it in 6 hours, I could have hit 100 that night if the ride didn't go down three times.  After that night I felt great and could have done another 82.

My vote goes for Corkscrew!

I hate to say it, Dan, but you seemed pretty messed up at the Gemini 100, too.  When Lauren and I came by a couple times, during your skipping from the exit to the entrance, you were walking by us talking to yourself, eyes half open.  It sounded like you were arguing with yourself.  ;)  It was pretty funny.

Ah, no I will be a watcher if we do another Gemini 100.  I'd have to think about another marathon too, it was a blast but boy making it through those long afternoon hours on the Gemini 100 stunk.  Although the people made it worth it

This second hill is my favorite part of the ride. It is so Cool!
Gemini 100
Its Dan K's fault
Raptor Flights: 504
Something needs to be done like the witch's wheel 250.  That would really show who has some endurance.  If you throw up you are out of the marathon.

ucsigep, that's not atypical for Dan, it's just a normal day for him.

As far as marathon rides go, Blue Streak is very good for a SMALL group, but only running two trains maximum has its limitations if your group starts to get big enough.  I managed 50 rides in about 4 hours on it one day, but as Dan will attest, solo marathons are certainly easiest.  I doubt I'll be attending CP enough this year to do the marathon thing this year, so I'm out, no matter what, but I wish any future marathoners luck, and if I have one piece of advice about it, it's to ask Anne and Rob about drinking alcohol the morning of a marathon and then drinking water all day and its effects and ability to make you look like you've done 1857651 laps when you're only on about number 50.

how about a Banshee/Mantis marathon? that ride has scads of replay value AND lots of possible interaction opportunities, IMO.

Witches Wheel... with one giant hot dog from the place across the midway every hour. That's a real challenge.
