Gemini question

Has anyone ever experienced really bad whiplash on this ride? This past summer I rode in the front and smashed my face on the person next to me coming around that last turn. Blacked out and when I came to we were getting off the ride. Just wondering if there's a better place to sit to avoid this since I love the ride.

I have been jerked on the final helix due to the final speed breaking not engaging. The front is typically better then the rear. But in general do not sit over the rear tires on any car.

The best rides on Gemini happen when the trim brake before the final helix is turned off. It's a coaster, it's more exciting when riders are "jerked".

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

The best place to sit to avoid forces on a roller coaster is on the bench on the midway in front of the roller coaster.

Maybe they changed the controls in the last couple years. It used to be that when the train was lightly loaded they turned the trims off and the "Track Trim Open" light illuminated. When that light was on all the trims, including the final helix trims, were off. The ride was very noticeably faster through the helix and significantly more exciting.

It was changed in 2010.

It's also a good thing to remember, if you don't hear or feel those trims grab the train, brace for a hard braking after the helix. Especially if the train in front of you is not clear of the station.

Yeah, I definitely have noticed that the trims haven't been consistent. There have been times when the crew was stacking and I remember practically CRAWLING through the last turn, but man that last time I rode it you're right- the trims had to be off because we FLEW. Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but it pretty much ruined the rest of my day. (Thought I had a mild concussion -_-)

Remember, it's nice to be important- but it's more important to be nice.
