Going up up and inplace!

Not to be the play-by-play guy.. but a flatbed with track has pulled up.. maybe this thing will go in front of the CP webcam today.

Looks like a piece is right in front of the cam hanging from a crane right this sec.

Looks like a continuation of the drop that has gone up. That looks like it will be a decent sized drop into the S-bends.

Apparantly, that piece of "track" from the hill that you could see in the CP cam isnt track, its part of a crane, it keeps moving.

Darn well thanks for the attempt MrInk and Ill have to reimburst you one day for the baseball.

I am not an expert by any means but the scale of the S-bends would hint at the speed through them and their degree of bank close to the ground should put a smile on the face. From my memory there are footers that would run within those S-bends that could throw some head banging moments into play.

The coaster construction process of planning/placing all of the footers in the correct locations and fitting/attaching pre-fabricated track precisely has always intrigued me. I am assuming that they weld track pieces together to get the smooth transitions?

On some coasters yes, they weld the track sections together once in place (arrow), however, I believe on intamin coasters, one end of the track has a post on it and the other end has a hole on it to receive the next piece of tracks post. Kinda like legos.
