Halloweekends Opening Weekend!

Hey guys!

I am going to Halloweekends Sept 17-18. I will be staying at the campground and plan on getting in the park the minute the doors open!

Where would you go to first in the park? I will be entering in through the entrance nearest Soak City.

In the past, we have gone straight to Maverick, but I am wondering if going to TTD would be a better strategy.

What would you do?

I would stick with the resort gate if you want TTD...Most people will be at the main entrance & whatnot anyways so you can somewhat (not completely, others will be there too) beat the crowd...However...I would go for Maverick or Millie...TTD isn't my kind of ride...however, if that floats your boat, go ahead :P

If you do plan on doing the attractions while you're there and not ride rides...I would suggest getting in line ahead of time..I have seen people wait forever for the haunted houses...

Thanks! ... I am hoping to do most of my riding on Friday night so I can do some attractions on Saturday...

We will see how that goes!

If you want to do the indoor houses and/or Cornstalkers (and I highly suggest them, especially Happy Jack's and Eerie Estates) I would suggest doing them on Friday. They can get some insane lines on Saturdays, although the first weekend usually hasn't been too bad in the past. The other outdoor walkthroughs don't have issues with lines unless you show up before they open.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Good luck...

It is going to be PACKED!

When I went last year, I was kind of bummed because a lot of the rides were sporatic due to the high winds.

I was able to actually get on TTD after about a 2 hour wait.

Then I went to a fright zone that didn't have any fog due to the winds.

I guess that's a risk you have to take when you go to northern Ohio in September.

The wind naturally plays havoc with the fog. A good Screamster doesn't need it anyway. :)

I'll be the Captain of Terror Island for the 4th year in a row.

Is that kind of like the Mayor of Lighthouse Point? ;)

I'm not so sure. I always go this first weekend and it's far less crowded than the weeks that follow, particularly the first two weeks of October which are insane (hence my choice to use those weeks for KI Haunt).

I'll be there that weekend for sure.

That's our thinking too... We normally go either the last weekend in September or the first weekend in October. The crowds are getting heavier every year.

Hopefully going a little earlier in the season, it will be a little less-crowded
