Everytime I'm in line for either the Blue Streak or the Raptor, I always find it so intregueing that both of these machines are roller coasters! They are so different and yet so similar. It's hard to believe that the modern steel looping Raptor uses the same technology as the old wooden Blue Streak.
I guess it's the same feeling people get when comparing the old Mustang's to the new ones.

I agree. Compared to other things 50 or so years is not that long. Could you imagin if the people back then could see the coasters now. They would faint at the site of the force.

My grandfather is 86 years young, and last summer he conquered all the CP coasters except MANTIS. Of course, no one believes us until we whip out the on-ride photos. Just to note- his favorite was RAPTOR.

I was just thinking today. If a park builds another coaster 100 feet taller every ten years then in 2050 there will be an 800ft coaster!
