Hotel Breakers and Season Pass/CoasterMania

In 2007 I'll be back for my 2nd CoasterMania (and TTD better be running this time!), and this trip I'll be staying at HB. So I have two piles of questions:

1) I bought a Season Pass so I have to get it processed. Is that ONLY at the front gate? How far is it from HB to the front gate? Walkable? I know I can get my parking fee refunded but I'm curious. I just read about a shuttle, so that might be an option too.

2) Lining up for CoasterMania begins at an ungodly hour. Does anyone know if said shuttles will be running then? Or should I drive around from HB? (Or is it walkable?)

Many thanks! Looking forward to CP again... puts our Texas parks to shame.

When are you getting in on Thursday? You'd probably be best off processing your pass then.

It's walkable from Breakers to the front gate. Just a couple hundred yards, but you'd need a pass to get into the park. The shuttle will be your best option here, it stops at the Magnum gate, the Marina gate and the main gate.

Once you have your pass you can enter the Breakers gate over by Wicked Twister.

eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!

Ride on, MrScott!

great ert

Also, the shuttles begin running a full hour(at least) before the park opens for resort guests.

Personally, I would drive around and park in the main lot. Sure, you have to move your car sometime later, but in the early early morning, it's more convenient.

I'm planning on getting to Cleveland around noon, and heading immediately to CP. Process the pass, then check in at HB. I'm going to give TTD *two* days to work this time. I was at CoasterMania the year Dragster opened, and it didn't run the entire week. :( MF pretty much made up for it... what a fun ride. :)

IMO, MF is a much better ride!

Even after you have your pass, for CoasterMania you can only enter via the main gate. Later on in the day (after the park has opened to everyone), you can go through any entrance you'd prefer.

I would get your pass the day before. That late in the season the process should not take all that long. As far as the shuttles go, they are great. You park your car when you get there and have the shuttles take you all around the property. I would not try walking from HB to the front gate. We tried this one day and got picked up by CPPD. We did not get a ticket or anything, but the cop reminded us of the 3 signs that we alked past that said we were not allowed walking along peremiter road. He took us to the gate in the cruiser. My wife got to ride in the back. We still laugh about this today.

I was thinking about that. There is no way to walk from Breakers to the front gate without the park being open. You can't walk down Perimeter Road and the beach is blocked off right around WT.

One could snorkel.

Its not like the water is terribly deep, and if the rules are the same as in Michigan (they might not be) CP's ownership ends at the water line. Meaning you could walk in the water all the way down to the parking lot.

The shuttles run 24/7 from 8am-12 3 shuttles are always running. From 12-8 they are on call. So all you have to do is tell the front desk staff you would like a shuttle and they will take u to one of the stops
Hotel Breakers
Soak City/Challange Park
Sandcastle Suites
Camper village office
Lighthouse Point Pool
Famous Daves
Bay Harbor
Pet Check

I just went through the Coastermania/Coaster EXT flyers again and really read them this time rather than just skimmed them. It looks like this time there will be a pre-registration period. The question I have is will this keep me from having to get out of bed at the ungodly hour and be at the park at 4:30am?

Also I notice that if you are doing the next day's CoasterEXT @ GL and have a season pass the only way to get in for free for the event is you have to pre-register.

Just something to be aware of in case you haven't noticed it yet like me. I haven't been to the GL event before, but was thinking about it this year since I have the CF MAXX pass.

Thanks for the heads up... yeh, I'd seen it, but the pre-registration site wasn't up as of last week. Pretty lame to have your flyers out for a month and STILL not have a working site at the URL mentioned in them.

Ok, I'm looking to book at room at HB, but I have read a lot of bad reviews of the venerable Bon Air section. Unfortunately, none of the room descriptions or reviews say just where that is. :)

My choices are:

"Room is located either between the 1st and 3rd floors of Breakers East or the 3rd and 9th floors of Breakers Tower."

and

"Room is located between the 1st and 3rd floors of the main section with no elevator access."

Is one of those better than the other? Many thanks for any info!

The rooms in the main section aren't terrible, but the lack of elevators isn't much fun after a long day.

Personally, I'm partial to the tower section due to the views, especially from higher up.

I agree. The tower section is a great place to watch TTD at night.

CPWorker,

24/7 means 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CP's shuttles don't do that and in May you may only find 1 or 2 running.

And does anyone know what "Non-view" rooms are? :)
