How did the Red Cross know???

I find it interesting that the Red Cross on Monday decided to make today the closing for bidding on the Maverick ride, then all of a sudden CP announces the ride is going to open in 2 days. I'm just wondering if Cedar Point gave the Red Cross a "Heads UP" that the ride might be ready soon, and to get the bidders in order. I mean ending the bidding randomly on on a Thursday morning at 8:30, then less than 8 hours later that day the park announced the opening.

The higher ups knew it would open Saturday, they just held off on the public announcement until everything was 100%.

I'm guessing they were hoping the ride would be done by Saturday and just waiting for the all clear to announce it. They said early June to be safe.

Seeing as how Judy Kinzel's husband runs the company, and she runs the local Red Cross... you put it together.

It's a conspiracy.

I was supposed to be a Red Cross Rider. I was not able to attend due to other comitments. Anyway when I spoke to the Red Cross rep yesterday, she said that they were not given the heads up to have the ride until 3:00 Thursday. She went on to say that she thought it would not be until next week. Having that been said, I don't think the Red Cross even knew no matter who works for them.

CP333, I think you should refer to what Jeff stated.
