is it about time that Cedar Point should have...

I can say on the Thursday before coastermania i did not wait more than 20mins, i don't think i waited more than 10. Everything was a walk-on, including raptor and maverick, i think millennium and dragster might have been 10 mins. Dragster was around the split point, and millennium was not down the ramp.

There are those days.

A flash pass would be great. Like anything, put the price high enough so that only the right amount of people for the park will buy one. I agree, you don't want 1,000 people walking around with flash passes making the other 10,000 people wait way too long.

They could sell a hybrid pass that only gets you to the front of Millennium, Maverick, and Dragster one time a piece.

Kinda like Busch Gardens. They offer a cheaper Single use pass, that can only be used once per ride. They also offer a more expensive Unlimited pass, that can be used all day as many times as you like.

I like the idea, and no, I don't think I would buy one (the only rides are mav, mill, and drag and with early entry I can already hit 2 of the 3). $5 for a front of the line pass (one time use) to millennium, or a bundle for millennium, dragster, and maverick (all one time use) for $10.

It would be a much easier answer to the question..."Hey, I'm driving from X hours away and will only be there one day, any tips on how to make sure I ride everything?"

It was just a poor system.

Actually, it was a great system...until the GP figured it out and started abusing it as you described. ;) So yeah, not a very scalable system though.

I wouldn't plan on pay-to-ride coming anytime soon, other than the VIP tours. CF generally cares more about operations and capacity which is a great thing. I tend to think parks with pay-to-ride other than Disney/Universal tend to get lazy with ops since they figure you will pay more to ride quicker anyway.

Even the name of CP's system, "Freeway", made fun of the pay systems at other parks. Add on the fact that most of the Freeway lanes were removed when it ended, rather than leaving them there for future use.

The flash/fast pass systems work great.

Those parks have the skip the line passes, AND they offer the v.i.p tours as well.

It's not cutting in line. You are essentualy in line, your just not standing in it. Your elswhere spending money or watching a show. You just reserve a spot in line.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.

Where's Mo' Money to make sense of all this?

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

They are all still there.

I am trying to remember what rides had the freeway.

I think it was wicked twister, millennium force, and dragster.

Magnum, Raptor, Mantis

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

Everybody always says it's pay to cut. What a bunch of whining babies. If someone has the money to spend on a flashpass, then they should have by all rights be able to use a flashpass. I for one love the flashpass and all the dirty looks me and the wife get when we use one.

CP's VIP experience is just way to pricey in my opinion.

windixie06

I think they should implement something like Disney's fast pass. It treats everyone in the park that day equally. People can buy the VIP tour if they want to be exclusive.

Cedar Point should also have a gate somewhere in Frontiertown. Even if it's an exit-only gate that doesn't have to have an employee watching it. It would be a nice way to get back to Sandcastle for a break.

There already is a gate near sandcastle. It's right by the go carts and soak city.

So just because I disagree with the flashpass system I'm a whining baby? You might want to be carefull how you state your opinion. Just saying.

Off the top of my head, Freeway started in 2002 on Wicked Twister and Millennium Force. It then expanded to Raptor, Mantis, Dragster, and Magnum in 2003. Although, it was pretty useless for Dragster since it hardly operated consistently.

Freeway was discontinued in 2005.

That gate is near Breakers. It is a nice short walk from Sandcastle in the morning. And a long walk in the afternoon. :) If I'm in Frontiertown around dinner time and want to go back to Sandcastle, it's a pain to walk all the way to Magnum, and then all they back along the beach. A new exit would cut the walk down to about 50 feet.

It's all but a 2 min walk from frontier town to the magnum gate. If the 5 min walk to the hotel is that much of a concern, eather stay at breakers or call a shuttle.

There is a phone for the shuttle right next to rip cord, or you can catch the shuttle at breakers.

Adding another gate is an unnecessary expense for the park. They would have to pay another employee to sit there all day.

If your walking around in the park all day, what's another few min of walking?

Or better yet, you can stay at a off property resort, save a bunch of money, and be able to drive to the hotel at the end of the night. There is a parking lot next to soak city that you can park in.

^I think you are underestimating the walk times. And they wouldn't need to staff an exit only gate. The shuttle is awesome if you are already close to the Marina or resort gate, but an exit near the back provides more options.

Of course, I can stay off property. We like staying on property for our vacation. This would make staying on property even more desirable.

^ It would need to be staffed. Handstamps, make sure no one sneaks through, and security.

Does Cedar Point still have the Season Pass line at the main entrance still? I really thought that it was nice not have to wait in line.

Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc

i'm just saying their really should be a fastpass system..because I heard CP's lines are extremely long all the time.
