Is Shoot the Rapids even really open on Saturdays and Sundays?

They said the ride would be open throughout October... Does anyone actually ride it? Has it actually been open?

Brrr--this past weekend it would have been a Russian ice slide!

I don't see anything on the main site or the Halloweekends site saying it's closed. But, that's what I heard. No confirmation of it myself though.

This weekend is supposed to reach in the 80's so there would be a few willing to ride it.

^I'm not sure about it reaching the 80's, but I think I have seen the ride run on the webcams over the past weeks.

I only rode it 2 times. It is a pretty nice Water Ride, but it is mostly like a "Family Water Ride". If it is a walk on; I will ride it. I am ready for the "WINDSEEKER" for 2011. RIDE ON!!!

You know you don't get a discount for being enthusiastic, right? ;)

Good one Flo. ;)

Let's Get Weird.

I'm here all week. Seriously. That was my schedule. ;)

I can't speak for last Saturday and Sunday, but it's been open every other weekend since Labor Day excluding Friday of course. With a good forecast it probably will be open this weekend. The webcam shows it's ready.

Actually coolkid, it reached 79 here yesterday in south east Michigan.

"You wanna, you gotta, you hafta hold on, Cedar Point...HOLD ON!"

It's running right now (Saturday, around noon). Park looks crowded already.

It looks as if all of the effects are off too.

It reached 86 today in Lima. This is not what October weather is supposed to be like. :)

It was running Sunday. There wasn't a very long line, maybe 20-30 people mid afternoon.

I hope the park is only keeping this ride going this late in the year because it is it's inaugural season. If very people are riding it on what possible could be the best weather weekend it will ever see in October what is the sense of keeping it open?

It's not easy to tell from the web cam, but it certainly looked as if people were enjoying riding it over the weekend. Why shouldn't they keep it open?

Because some people can't wait to see it fail?

Goodbye MrScott

John

I think we've already seen it fail a good bit.

StR has indeed failed on a number of fronts.

Yet, people still ride it, and I've yet to hear about a parade of guests refusing to ever come back to CP because of their horrendous experience on it. As a matter of fact, it's still cycling customers (and making lines shorter for other stuff, by the way) in mid-October.
