Is SRF still open?

Do they keep SRF open around this time of year or did they drain it out already?

It's closed.

Cedar Point rocks my socks.

I guess those 4-5 people I saw on the ride last year during Halloweekends weren't enough to keep it open. ;)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

It is supposed to open if the temperature is above a certain point. I believe it's 55 degrees. But, I have yet to see it open a single weekend I've been there this fall (otherwise known as all of them). Last year it cooled off so much so early, and ridership was so low they just closed it for the season. My guess is they've done the same this year.

This time of year with the unpredictable weather and staff being short handed, I think they should not bother opening it. Use the staff that would be there elsewhere in the park.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Well when I was there opening night they had some sack cloth over the entrance sign, so Im pretty sure they made a conscious decision to just close the thing this year.

It wasnt drained but it has closed for the season. Its too bad, Im certain it would have been a popular ride Oct 6th when it was 85 out. I know I would have been on it.

R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!

I'm sure there will be a day or two every year that CP could feasibly keep SRF open for Halloweekends, but the majority of the time it's too cold, and it's pointless to spend the money to staff a ride that gets 30 riders all day.

That is where WWL was put to good use.. Got you a bit wet, but not soaked.

Well the boats have been siting outside of the track since at least mid september.

I actually think they need to make an effort to open this ride when temperatures are high, even during Halloweekends. I went the last week of September I believe, it was quite warm, and I heard numerous people wishing a water ride was open. Having said that, if those people could instead be screamsters in Fright Zone, by all means, send them there.
