Yes I was wondering the same question, what is your new position? Will I who work in rides have any contact? Just curious.

I think the whole point is that by design, we're not supposed to know what he'll be doing. Have fun!

Been here for quite some time, mostly just reading. Never have figured out what Red Garter Rob's job at CP was in the first place. Whatever it was, I've always been envious. What a great place to work for a career.
What I don't understand, is why he said goodbye in the first place. Many who work at CP post here. Just read some of the sigs. As long as you are careful about what you say (about non public knowledge or slamming Cedar Fair), there shouldn't be an issue.

MrScott, of all the people who work at Cedar Point and post here, how many of them are silver tags? I would be willing to bet none...

CP bound, OK. Why? Is that a condition of employment for Silvers? If so, why just Silvers and above?

If Silvers were able to post, think of the good that they could do.

The upper management reads here and everyone knows it. To post something stupid would be to commit "employment suicide"

Many companies have fairly strict rules about whether or not employees can make public statements about the company, or if they can speak as "representatives". Since I'm sure that the employment agreement for full-time, year-round staff is different from that for seasonals, it's not that big of a surprise that there are different rules.

Another possibility is that Rob has made the decision on his own that it is in his best interests to no longer post, thereby avoiding even the appearance of running afoul of any NDAs he had to sign as a condition of year-round employment. As discretion is the better part of valor, this seems wise.

So Blue Tags and below CAN post on message boards and Silvers and above can't?

Nevermind, that makes corporate American sense.

Is it that hard to imagine? Our secretaries sign very different employment agreements than do the faculty.

What have I been saying for six years? Those who know don't talk, those who talk don't know.

Cedar Point is super anal about controlling what is said about the park. When sites like this started popping up I think it really drove them nuts. I'm not entirely sure why they haven't embraced the Internet and its communities. Seems to me it would result in a lot of free marketing.

Not everyone is like that I suppose. Paula Werne, the PR rep from Holiday World, posts on CoasterBuzz all of the time.

What time does the water show start?

True, but you may have also noticed that Paula is clearly the designated Holiday World poster. I would not be surprised if CP were to actively participate in this forum, we would only see one person participating.
