LHP Questions

Figured that much. Stupid King George and his dumb taxes... ;)

Brandon

Mr Sandusky gets his hand in your wallet, too.

Figure an extra $20 for room taxes, regardless of where you stay.

Travesty! I'm headed to Boston Harbor...

Brandon

Let's all buy Cotton Candy at the reduced rate of 25 cents and fill Sandusky Bay in protest!

Thanks guys! I knew I could count on the the Mayor and the good citizens of LHP to answer all my questions. I'm really looking forward to my first "on point" stay. Still can't believe it's less than a week away!

Don't forget the charcoal! (But if you do, you can buy it at the Camp Store, lighter fluid, too) :)

You are going to have the best time at CP that you have ever had.

Someone, I believe it was MrScott mentioned earlier to check out the boardwalk (maybe it was in another thread). Anyway, take that advice. I walked it last year, the entire thing from start to finish at night. It was beautiful. The nightlife around Breakers amazed me. I did it at night so I got to see an empty park full of light. The walk was long because I was in flip flops, but it was fun. I got some nice shots of the hotels and rides. It is very calming and a great way to end the day. Next time I go I will probably start my way that way too.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Twas me. And I echo your feelings.

PS: The morning walk is as pleasent as the evening one. :)

Yes! Dont forget the charcoal! It takes almost a full small bag to get a decent fire going in those huge grills they have, so bring enough!

A question for the mayor....

I have never done the boardwalk at night, but I will this year, thanks for that tip. But my question is.........We always go in May, so we can never really see the park at night. How long could we "linger" in the park once it's closing time? Say if we we're at the Main Gate when the park closes, how long will they let us walk VERY SLOWLY to the resort gate before telling us it's time to leave? Also, we usually drive from LHP to the Bay Harbor Inn, I am assuming there is no way to just walk through the park after closing instead of driving....

Thanks!

Mike

Once you stay on point you wont wana stay anywhere else :-), its a joy to hear all the rides warming up every morning while your eating breakfast, and the skyline of CedarPoint!

You cannot really "linger" as they try to clear the park out so they can begin cleanup. You'd be fine "strolling" but if you are walking slowly they'll have you hurry up. Also it depends on how many rides are still open.

If you go to Bay Harbor and the park has closed (or you just feel lazy) the resorts have a 24 hour shuttle service that will take you back to Lighthoue Point

LASTLY, another evening/early morning thing to do is sit out on the pier/dock and watch the ships & boats come in and go out. Its very calming out there listening ot the waves

Yeah, What IrishEd said.

I know that I've asked this question before, but just wanted to double-(or perhaps, triple-)check... I'm planning on bringing a full-size gas grill, full-size coffee maker and perhaps a hot plate with me. I assume the latter two are fine, but what about the gas grill?

Also, is there anything else I should consider bringing (besides a cooler)?

Brandon

What you are bringing will not be a problem. The hot plate will be great for breakfast.

Also, is there anything else I should consider bringing (besides a cooler)?

Yeah, beer and food. ;)

Done and done.

It feels like an eternity until the 19th, MrScott. Do you know of any pills I can take that will allow me to fall asleep until then, yet continue to work, eat and socialize at the same time? ;)

Brandon

Nope. But the 19th will be here before we know it. And then the weekend will be over and the whole waiting process for the next trip begins.

MrScott.

When will you be at LHP? As mayor, I will need to present my credentials to you..........as Ambassador to WDW! :-)

I believe he will be there May 20th-21st. My group will be there May 19th-20th.
