Listen to this rumor.

I heard this on thrillride.com, "I know usually Cedar Point waits every other year until a big attraction, but they will expand in 01, and possibly 02, to keep the most coasters. This is from a good source that, in 01 there will be a Thrust Air coaster on the beach. Then they are also saying that a floorless B and M coaster will open behind Thunder Canyon go behind the mean streak. These are both for 01, and both are semi confirmed by sources. Cedar Point is keeping their mouth shut on both. Then there is a rumor for 2002 that starting behind Mean Streak, where the B and M would end would be an Arrowbactic coaster, they said it would wrap around the peninsula behind sandcastles and go down possibly close to the main beach. Then I have heard starting in 2004 or 2005 there will be a major expansion of the park, that would be every other year. Renovations one year, big time rides the next year. I heard look for a new woodie, new parking lot, new water ride, and new hyper coaster maybe a giga. This would happen in 2004 or 05, and be every other year like I said."

Any thoughts,

Kyle

I wouldnt trust thrillrides rumors, the majority of them are fallacies.....only about 20% of them are true
Yeah and maybe in 2010 they will drain a large portion of the bay and fill it in with dirt to make CP 4 times larger!!!! I think its a bunch of BS.
Just a rumor I heard, sorry.

Kyle

Yeah ThrillRide rumors are most of the time people who ahve nothing else better to do then to make up random rumors. Although it'd be nice, I wouldn't count on it.

Of course they have something planned. The question is what.

The aquatic stadium is history, you can be sure of that. I've been saying that for nearly a year. What they'll put there I'm not sure. My guess is that they have one of three things in the pipe, though I'm not sure if they'll appear next year. I'm expecting either a B&M, a CCI or perhaps a Thrust Air, as it's been said that Stan Checketts was trying to sell them one even a year ago. I guess we'll see.

From what I've gathered on r.r.c, Cedar *FAIR* is supposed to get a TA2K next year, but not Cedar *POINT*.

Think a western property with an established CCI that's --Knott-- cedar point...
I heard this on screamscape.com, "2001/2002 - Rumor - Cedar Point Boardwalk Project - (1/21/2000) The latest rumors about the "Boardwalk" project seem to indicate that it may have gone cold, or have been sent to the back burner in favor of another hot project.
(9/5/99) I've been thinking about this idea myself and come to realize that the Boardwalk project will likely two a two phase project. 2001 will bring about the start of the boardwalk (if true) with a slew of new food sites, midway games, flat rides, and possible an Arrow Mad Mouse to make up for the rumored removal of Disaster Transport. This will create a historica looking boardwalk area along the waterfront from the DT site down to the soon to be removed Oceania site, which may recieve the park's Giant Wheel. Adding the Mad Mouse will keep the park's coaster count at the same number as well as being fairly cheap. 2002 may bring a new CCI style wood coaster inspired from the Knott's Berry Farm GhostRider design.

2002 - Rumor - (3/1/2000) A new sources writes in to say that the next coaster may very well be an outer copy of the Disney Rock 'N Roller Coaster from Vekoma. Seems the brass of CP took a trip to Orlando and took a shine to it. Of course, they liked Dueling Dragon as well, but they already have Raptor. Still, I can't believe they could pass up a chance to build another Hulk style coaster, perhaps with Floorless trains.
(12/31/99) It's too easy to know anything for sure at this point, but we did receive word that the park may be looking at buying a B&M Floorless coaster that would stand approx. 225 feet tall and take the record with nine inversions. It's a beautiful dream... lets hope they follow through since a really good MegaLooper is really the one kind of coaster that Cedar Point still does not have. The downside to this story is that B&M are already building a smaller floorless coaster at Six Flags Ohio in 2000... so this doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Who really knows what is in store for CP. I would rather the Thrillride rumor come true, as i hate it how they always wait 2 years for a new coaster. Well if they keep doing that and kings island keeps adding coasters at the rate they are. Say goodby to the most coasters in the world. However the screamscape rumor would most likely happen based on CP's past expansions in the last decade.

Welcome back Millennium Force riders...We all want to know how was your RIDE!!!!!
Honestly I don't think anyone cares too much about the most coasters record. Unless you have serious park pride. Who knows what will happen, I'll still go no matter what. Its a nice clean park, and its about an hour and half away. If Boblo was still open I'd go. I love amusement parks, I'm just lucky that one of the nicest parks around is right near by.

What tips me off about that last rumor was the mention of the Arrowbatic going down the beach. The Arrowbatic is an 2-wide, 2-deep inverted wild mouse. It's a compact little coaster, around the size of their Mad Mice. It won't stretch down any beach at CP, unless they mean the spit near the marina.
CP obviously cares about the most coasters record or else they wouldn't have counted it in their ads for MF.
Yeah aren't Arrowbatic coasters have a set dimension, and if it were to be strected along the baech wouldn't it just be an inverted coaster
Well, given that there aren't any installed Arrowbatic coasters yet, who's to say Arrow wouldn't do a custom layout for a park that can pay for it like Cedar Point?

Now, having said that, a spread out Arrowbatic would kinda defeat the purpose, IMHO. It's an inverted madmouse -- you WANT lots of tight curves, close calls, etc., and a fairly short run (otherwise the ride would to too low capacity -- you've only got 5 people per "train")

From what I've gather, the Arrowbatic has two set models, much like Arrow's standard Mad Mouse [see Michigan's Adventure for the closest example]. Mice are fairly rectangular, as well. The Arrowbatic seemed to follow this lead.
Kings Island is once again claiming to have tied the world record for having the most coasters at one park with its new Son Of Beast. Of course the only way to make that claim is if PKI counts the Racer roller coaster as two, which it does. In my opinion, just because you turn one of the trains around on a racing coaster does not constitute having a 2nd coaster.

It must be that same logic that Six Flags Magic Mountain uses when they make the claim that Superman the Escape is the world's tallest roller coaster at 415 feet. Even though most people including myself, do not consider it to be a roller coaster at all. But rather a shuttle launched free-fall ride.
Look what Magic Mountain did: They built Superman: The Escape and called it the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster at 415 feet and 100 mph. Then they built Goliath and called *it* the tallest and fastest coaster in the world at some 265 feet and 80-some MPH. So I guess Superman is officially not a coaster anymore. --Dave Althoff, Jr.

Not only that, but if you use the Racer logic, then you have to call Gemini two coasters and you're right back where we started, with Cedar Point on top.

Duh!

Also, if you use the Racer logic and SFMM's Superman logic, SFMM would have an extra 2 (or 3 depending on how you count Superman) since there are 2 sides to Colossus and Superman.

To me Superman is a glorified freefall and Colossus, Racer, Gemini, etc are all 1 coaster.

No matter how you count it, though, CP is THE Roller Coast.
if the super man the ultimate escape is a coaster then CP has 19 coasters witht he power tower being 4 of them :)
