Magnum Crash Photos

I was given two pictures of the coaster right after the crash. If you look at the pictures you can see that the two trains hit harder than Cedar Point led us on to believe.

Hmm. Interesting photo. It doesn't look like it hit very hard. That's what I'd expect for a 2-5mph impact.

I have a feeling those photos won't last long on here.

Anyways, I would of hated to be the people in the last row. I know they weren't seriously injured, but the movement of the side panel on the last car looks bad. I'm assuming the seat back didn't move - just the fiberglass side panel?

Thanks for posting the photos. These were the first good photos of the crash that I've seen (although I must admit, I wasn't looking very hard).

^ I have to agree. The photos don't seem to be anything different from what I would expect from a slow speed crash. Especially with trains that are not made to stand up to impacts.

To relate it to the real (non-park) world. There was a study done semi-recently (within the past year) that looked at slow speed auto crashes. It found that the majority of modern cars would result in often thousands of dollars worth of damage due to slow (10-15 mph) crashes.

I know this first hand as the repair bill for my escort was up around 2500 after a pickup truck backed into it and dented up my hood with his trailer hitch.

^^ Why? Those are in-season photos, taken from the midway.

Here's the thing... technically there is no wrong doing, but I also smell attention whoring given the fact that the member hasn't posted much of anything else. In the interest of maintaining a good relationship with the park, so we can have access in the future for photo updates, backstage tours and events, we're done here.
