Maverick's queue

Really? I think even Disaster Transport's queue is better than Maverick's. See Dueling Dragons at Islands of Adventure for a REALLY neat queue, or for that matter pretty much anything at Disney World.

The only thing i didnt understand at the end of the que was the people telling you where to go. I told them i was going to wait for front car and he gave me a look that could kill. I really dont know why they tell you what line to go to. Maybe its to avoid the magnum que problem.

Because it keeps things flowing and ensures that every seat on every train is "full" before they load the train. Nothing slows things down like having the train board and THEN trying to find 2 more just to keep full trains going. So, they assign everyone ahead of time.

Am I the only one (over 25) who ignores them?

Boy thats a nice attitude to have, lets just all ignore the employees!

Thats pathetic, a few times I have requested if I could have a certain row, and they have allowed it, but if they said know, I would go to the row assigned. Why? Because they are in charge, we are guests to the park and its their job to make sure we stay safe, and that everyone has a good time.

Assigning seats is very efficient and keeps the waits shorter, thats why Disney does it on all their coasters and Universal does it for most of them (not Dueling Dragons.)

If i choose to wait an extra 30 minutes to ride thr front seat of a coaster i will. Maverick is the only ride that comes to mind at cp that they assign you seats. Other than like thrill rides.

Ignoring the fact that I'm a paying guest, I'm quite sure I haven't ruined anyone's day by choosing my own seat. And I'm quite certain I've not endangered anyone.

You've never heard of the butterfly effect have you?

You choosing your own seat, caused the person who would have had it rethink their life and so they didn't donate to Sally and an African kid died.

ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!

I can live with that.

I'm exactly 25, and sometimes I ignore them. If I am feeling the urge for a

front or back seat, I just go tell the workers I'm going in that particular line. Other times, if I'm with people that don't want to wait the extra 5 to 10 minutes, then I'd just go where they say. Its preference. I actually like the idea of them telling you where to go. It does save from the big CF on the loading station. Talking about a big CF, the queue lines at the stations at Canada's Wonderland are worse than I have ever seen at Magnum. So many people on the decks, that the station itself slopes downward a little.

Try asking for a certain row and I'll bet the employee will let you go there. If anything, offer to let them fill the rest of the rows before you go in the station. They're doing the job they're told to do. Ignoring them messes up the system and ends up slowing down the intervals since there isn't a lot of time to get all 24 rows filled with two guest each.

The only thing that bugs me is that when I am a single rider and get into the single rider line, I typically end up waiting longer than I would have had I just stayed in the normal line. I understand the idea behind the seperate line. However, I wish they would filter the single riders in a bit more quickly.

Jason

Why do they call it common sense, when it's so infrequently used?

Gomez's avatar

The problem with the single rider line is that guest don't understand the concept along with the line isn't is long enough. If the lines separated at the entrance to the queue house, it would be a lot better.

That, and the point of the single rider line isn't to get you on more quickly, it is to fill in open seats when, for instance, a group of 3 comes up. Whereas, if you just stay in the regular line, you aren't being used as filler, you are a rider.

I understand its their job and all that, but again, its not like I'm ruining anyone's day. Typically, I choose a certain row, leaving room in another row, which they'll notice quickly and subsequently fill. I just don't really dig the idea of assigned seating when I'm a paying customer.

I agree with you dj. But I was just happy to be able to fit on the Maverick last year. I got the back seat, but it was worth the 2 hour wait the day it opened.

djDaemon's avatar

After BooBuzz, I can hardly fathom waiting 2 hours for Maverick. Though the 1.5 hour wait in June was worth it for my first ride. :)

JuggaLotus's avatar

I think we waited about 2 hours on closing day for it. Although, on bonus weekend, I waited maybe 30 minutes for my first ride, and got in a good 5 or 6 within an hour and a half before we moved on.

Yep - that's about what we did at BooBuzz. I think we ended up with 7 rides (3 or 4 of those re-rides, and being allowed to switch rows without leaving the platform) in around an hour before we headed to MF. Good times.

If memory serves they assigned seats on MF opening year too. Luckily enough I managed to get put in the front seat my first ride, it was freakin awesome. My guess is they'll loosen up a bit and let you pick your own seat on Maverick this year or next year.
