maXair Lighting Effects

What do you think the lighting effects for maXair will be? I hope it will be something new and different, but I am guessing it will be just like Wicked Twister's.

Dynamic lighting to match the new games area would be nice, but it's not the most reflective color scheme. I'm sure it'll be the typical spots at the base, like those on Dragster or the third hill of Millennium Force.

I think it would be sweet to have a light that follows/ moves with the maXair car. Maybe that same light could change colors from yellow to red to blue?

Maybe a strobe light on the bottom of the Gondula, or how ever you spell it, it might give people seizures though,

Yeah, but wouldn't you have to stare at it for a while to go into a seizure. My point is that the combination of the spinning and the speed of the ride wouldn't allow for a long exposure to the lights that would cause a seizure.
If Cedar Point did use strobe lights they would put some sort of post that would say something about the danger of strobe lights that the ride uses at night. But I'm all for the idea.
Maybe it could be real short intervals(short enough to not be dangerous)of strobe lights mixed with other lights.

Yeah... I don't think you want the lighting to be dynamic while it's in motion. That's a lot of motion for your brain to process as it is.

I don't see the need for strobe lights and all that, I think spotlights that match the ride's color scheme would serve the purpose...

Cedar Point rocks my socks.

I agree with Millennium Man. Lighting serves the purpose of lighting up the ride to see it at night. I think the color scheme lights are the best idea.

Yeah, I guess that is a better idea. Strobe lights would be cool though.

If only they didnt cause seizures.

But Raptor uses Strobe lights, I don't think there have been any seizures, so why can't maXair?

Raptor uses strobe lights????

Uh..,guess I never noticed.

I think he means the photo flash lights...heh

I think Mathyou is talking about the lights on Raptor's Cobra Roll.

Wierd... I never noticed lights on the cobra roll either.

The strobe lights though are on every ride with a camera. The strobes are the flash for the camera.

Thanks, JuggaLotus...I'm not the only one who knows what they are talking about!:)

Raptor has stobe lighting on it's cobra roll. They are there as a lighting effect only and not part of any photo taking system.

The cobra roll is brightly lit in the same lighting as the rest of the ride. Then as the train approaches the lighting dims completely out. As the train whips through the cobra roll the stobe lights kick in and don't stop flashing until the train has made its exit.

Ive never noticed this before in my entire life.

When I was little (maybe my first visit) and wouldn't dare ride Raptor, I noticed the stobes on the cobra roll. I thought it would be really crazy to the riders.

Now I dont notice them at all while on the ride.

I wish they'd elaborately light up maXair. If they lit it up like a carnival ride (Chaos, Scrambler) it'd be really cool at night. It's probably going to have lights below the gondola, so it'll light up the midway as it swings, but that's it.

They'll most likely give it the standard treatment of a few lights on the poles.

1,146 rides on Raptor. Three rides in 2009.
