MF b-roll
At the bottom of the official press release page at the official site it says they have construction b-roll available for the media. Do you think they would give a normal person like me this b-roll if I contacted them?

What is a B-Roll????

I think that B-roll stands for Beta Tape. Similar to VHS but uses a completly diferent type of player.

The idea is, if you don't know what it is, then you don't want it. 8-)
B-roll is that sort of generic footage of the park or of the ride that news producers can roll while the anchor reads the story. Saves us viewers from having to stare at the anchor's ugly mug for the whole piece, and makes the story (supposedly) more interesting. Real "radio with pictures" kind of stuff. Sometimes the B-roll includes one-sided interview "actualities" with officially appointed people giving answers to pertinent questions. By distributing B-roll to the stations, the park can increase its chances of getting a story on the air, because it lets the station do a whole story about the park, and nobody has to work very hard: nobody has to do an interview, nobody has to go to the park and shoot video in the mud...and to the people watching at home, it looks like the station put some effort into investigating this new rollie coaster thingie goin' up at the Po!nt.
Now think about the news you watch on TV. Is it really news, or just VNRs (Video News Releases) provided by people looking for attention and regurgitated by your local affilliate?
Oh, and the VNR probably comes on 3/4" or Betacam SP.

I am writing Cedar Point for info on Mf. Once when I wrote Cp they sent me 5 pictures and other cool stuff.
Once I email them other time I snail-mailed them. To email them go the questions or comments part of there web site.
Pet peeve: Don't ask questions about addresses and phone numbers. Look around the Internet. Don't be lazy.
The PR staff has been touring recently and handing out tapes of B-roll to any station that will use it (on Betacam, as Dave mentioned). Sorry, but I doubt they're going to spend time making VHS dubs for fans, seeing as how there's little chance that you'll be airing it on television anytime soon.
On the other hand, call your local TV station... you'd be surprised how many would make a dub for you. Ask for someone from the assignment desk, they can probably get you in touch with the right person.
