Millennium Force Improvements?

I wonder if the whole ride will be painted, or if they will do what they did with Magnum, have it be a two year process.

I don't think they have enough time to re-paint the whole thing before opening. They might have the time to just paint the track though. Interesting to see how they do it.

It appears it'll only be the track from tunnel 2 leading up to tunnel 1. The rest will most likely be done after the season ends. I'm beyond happy that they decided to do this. 2nd best thing (or 3rd depending on how you look at it) to happen this year. :)

Yeah I agree with you Adam. How can you let one of Cedar Point's most beautiful beloved roller coasters such as Millennium Force get no paint job after 10 years? They must have got tired of hearing us complain...lol.

If they folded in over us complaining about Millennium, then if we persist, we might see something drastic done with the food prices before opening day. ;)

The painting of MF has been on the list of things to do for many years. Problem is, most people have no clue as to how much that costs.

The money was not in the budget. This year, it was. Your complaining did not get it painted. ;)

Yea, I think that was mentioned before. But you cant help but think that our complaining drove the idea to "Request a budget that allows for a Millennium repaint". ;)

I bet if I go around yelling about how wonderful ice cream is and how more people across the nation should eat it, I could make sales of this delicious treat start going up in a month or two.

Think about it.

Hey, it looks like they're painting it...

Paint is not only for good looks, but is critical for protection against rust. And unlike Florida parks which generally paint stuff all the time, every-year (to upkeep the clean image), most northern parks apply "as needed", or basically when the protection the paint offers to the steel is no longer adequate.

And paints like this can be very pricey... I had to gather information from various paint vendors to repaint a large forging press, and there is so much that goes behind just paint. In this application it is probably not as critical, but still important (and pricey!). You can't buy this stuff at Home Depot :)

Thanks for the pic of new paint. Should look pretty good once the project is complete. Magnum's repaint has held up pretty well. The original coat makes a good primer layer.
