mine ride question

if the mine ride has 5 trains, why did they fix it to only run 3 trains?why not 5?i thought when it origenaly opened it ran 5.
Ride poularity is not what it used to be so the only fixed it to run a little quicker.
I'm not sure exactly but maybe because 3 trains is enough to keep the line empty and people will be able to practically walk on the ride. Although I still love the MR, the demand just isn't there like most of the other coasters in the park. There never used to be much of a wait when they ran 3 in the past. 4 or 5 trains probably isn't necessary. Just a theory.

Not only does ridership not require more than three trains, but it would also require more people. You would have to staff more people for the unload portion of the platform to get people off of the ride.

The Mine Ride has ...ummm... I think it has six blocks on it, which is enough to run five trains. But I have also been told that when the ride was new, it had a crew of twenty-six people to operate it. I figured out that it would have had two operators (one for each station), ten pedal pushers (one for each car in each station) and one greeter on each of two shifts. Five train operation requires that the train unload in the tunnel and load in the station...and quite frankly, it is not significantly more efficient than 3-train operation, and it is a lot more expensive in terms of labor costs and the risk of Bad Things happening in the station.

I think that 3 rides will keep the line moving very quick!

3 rides would only move the line 90 people! :p
When you say it will run quicker, do you mean to say the ride itself will be a little faster overall, or just that the lines will move faster?

That ride sorely could use a little "hutzpah."

Man, I can't help thinking about the mess that a coaster with five trains would have if the crew wasn't effencient. Talk about having to be 100% on the ball!

I would NOT like to see a stacking of five trains! Can't you just imagine!

The ride isn't any faster, but it is set to run three trains. I did see the ride set-up a few times today, strangely enough, with trains stacked and also one stuck on the second lift at another point.

I rode it, something I don't do much of. But it was nice. I did like the experimental train with the little ports for sticking a leg out and helping push the darned thing faster. Anyway, it seemed faster, but thats likely because of a year between rides, and low expectations.

Uh-oh...that's a bad sign, Jeff...when it's only running three trains, Mine Ride should never stack...

Well you got a new crew in there Dave. I'm sure by mid-season they'll be awesome and never stack. :o)

I have complete confidence in the leadership on Mine Ride.

Last year during June, I remember the line for Mine Ride being long....30 min(THATS LONG FOR THIS RIDE!). This was around noon to 3:00. I couldn't believe it! It was the first year that I went by and DID NOT go on. This could be why.
Last year during June, probably during a weekend eh MagnumFAN?

Hey, we were close to Mantis in total rides last season....and they ran 3 trains. :o)
