My first coaster

As I was getting excited for another trip to CP soon, i decided to go back to my parents old school VHS tapes from family trips to cp. I found the one of my first ever "big" rollercoaster which happened to be the Corkscrew. The video shows my older brother and my dad laughing at me as I cried all the way up the first hill, and then me coming out of the exit begging my mom if i could do it again......

Does anyone else remember what their first "big" rollercoaster was???

Maverick steals the #1 spot, sorry MF

Shivering Timbers, Michigan's Adventure. That thing scared the crap out of me, but now I loveee roller coasters.

My first rollercoaster ride was the racer at kings island, when i was

ten year's old. I have been hooked ever since.

The first "big coaster" I remember riding was Avalanche Run, hence my name here and my signature.

But I don't mind if the "TAER IT DOWN!!!!!111"

EDIT: Actually, it looks like my signature is wrong. The Voyage has surpassed Magnum as my overall #1.

I just can't decide between those two... If The Voyage is running as well as it is now in 18 years, perhaps I will change... but Magnum is just so good, and has been for so long...

Anyhoo... My first coaster was the Blue Streak. My dad took me on it when I was 5 or 6. I remember I was scared to death, and I swore it was coming off the tracks the whole time. After I got off, I was so proud of myself... When I got to school the next day, I doodled a sloppy drawing showing the layout of the ride including height and speed of each hill (greatly exaggerated), and showed it to all my friends... It's no surprise to me at all that I am now an enthusiast.

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

My first coaster was the Little Dipper at Kennywood, and I was young enough to not remember it. It closed in 84 and I was born in 81, so do the math. My parents teased me for years that it closed because I cried on it.

My first coaster was Magnum XL 200 during its opening year. My parents made me wait so long to ride it!

My first was the Sky Streak out at Boblo Island.

My first coaster was the Corkscrew when I was about 10 years old. Going up the first hill I told my sister "wow, this is a nice view of the park" not realizing that what goes up, must come down.

My first coaster was the beast at KI i think. I believe we were visiting family in Cinncinatti or something like that. I dont remember the ride but there is a picture of me on it at the house.

Your first coaster was Beast -- you think -- and yet you can't remember it?! What does it take to make an impression on you? ;)

My first coaster of any sort was some unnamed kiddie coaster at a carnival. The second was Scooby Doo at KI (later Beastie and currently Fairly Odd Coaster). My first full-fledged coaster was Racer, which I remember vividly.

I think i was like 7 or 8 at the time. My mind cant think back 20 years. Ill look at the picture and see if it was indeed beast. I know it was a wooden coaster in KI.

EDIT: As far as making an impression on me. I was brought up near kennywood and didnt get to CP untill about 03. Now im a regular. The last coaster to really impress me was Maverick. Somehow im still impressed with Jackrabbit at KW though.

Although my first coaster was some rinky dink thing at a carnival, I don't really count that.

So I consider my first coaster The Firecracker at Holiday World.

Blue Streak was my first, and not til I was about 12 or so. I was so afraid to get on a coaster as a kid, but finally got talked into it when visiting CP with a church youth group. Not long after that trip, we moved to Texas, and I didn't make it back to CP for many years.

loneranger, I agree that Jackrabbit is fantastic. Best double down on the planet.

my first was Judge Roy Scream, SFOT. i was around 7 or 8. i still love to ride that out and back.

I don't know if it was my first, but the it is the reason I fell in love with coasters. The Loch Ness Monster!! My brother and I rode that thing about 30 times one afternoon, and I have been a roller coaster junkie since. It is still one of the best coaster I have ever ridden, although it has been 4 years since I have been to BGE. My daughters was Wildcat at Hershey and she has been hooked. My 7 year got to ride Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport last Oct.

i went on Iron Dragon when i was about 10ish? Then my first REAL big coaster was...Raptor the next year.

So stoked for 2010 :]

Big Bad Wolf at BGE. Still my favorite suspended coaster. At first I thought it wasn't so bad, but then we came over the second lift hill and I almost wet my pants I was so scared! Great ride :)
