Mystery Construction

I picture a ride similar to this http://www.rcdb.com/ig1893.htm

That looks pretty lame.

^I was thinking the same.

Here are my ideas for what could possibly fit and what would be fun.

Terminator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVVt_dU_VXs&feature=related

Prowler: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8opWutEeaLA

Renegade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAZAFCdrF8o

(My favorite) El Toro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UM_7mbr4A8

Let's Get Weird.

OK, here's my opinion on all this yellow that CP favors over other colors like teal, brown, (burnt sienna was a good color idea), or purple.

I am not talikng about the track itself, I'm saying CP has too much yellow all over the park, on any structure of a ride. Especially in the middle with TTD, ID, and Mantis. It's a whole tangle of yellow in there! It this mystery rides is gonna be in the woods, they should make it blend with the frontier theme or have a rustic feel to it. If we were to walk back there to ride this, I wouldn't want this bright yellow monster to jump out at me from a nice peacful forest. (Or what's left of one.....)

I think purple track would be great.

millennium force's track is close enough to purple.

does anyone else think that having a wooden coaster named after a movie about killer robots is really stupid?

^ how about naming one after a local high school sports team? ;)

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

Are you implying that Blue Streak is a stupid name?;)

-Adam G- The OG Dragster nut

haha just saying, it's more often that a ride is named after a movie than a sports team ;)

I don't think most people would even associate the roller coaster names with 'killer robots' from movies, but I guess since some people actually watch those kinds of movies then yeah it could be stupid :)

Really, when you hear Terminator, you dont immediately think of Arnold, "Ill be back," or the T1000?

Cedar Point lives right on Lake Erie. We have had the Hotel Breakers since the Park was Open 1870. I think "BREAKER" would be a nice name for a Coaster.

I think Braker would be more appropriate given Cedar Points record of ruining what could be good rides with trim brakes.

The Breakers didn't open until 1905. It recently celebrated it's 100th aniversary.

I'm not that familiar with the size of the island and how much has been cleared, but one idea that no one has mentioned is a Huss Topple Tower like Dollywood's Timber Tower. It wouldn't take up a huge spot, so the rest of the island could be used as a midway/walkway.

Just thinking it might be cool to tilt over the lagoon, and possibly have some water cannons to spray towards the gondola as it tipped (of course these would only work sporadically...)

Of course after the problems with MaxAir and the problems that Huss has financially and with its other rides, I'm not sure that Cedar Fair would make another deal with them.

Hopefully it works better than Timber Tower. Especially once guests start riding it.

Are you saying you wouldn't want to get stuck at the top for 3 hours? ;)

A topple tower named "Breaker" is just asking for it...

Went to Dollywood for the first time in December, and one word can describe the Topple Tower IMO: unimpressive.

Not only was it extremely tiny (in terms of height) and not in the slightest bit imposing, but the ride experience was fairly slow and dull. I don't get the hype at all for that ride. "Wow....Look how far I can lean over..."

I dont recall any major parks installing one since Dollywood, either...at least here in the US.

Promoter of fog.

I haven't been to Dollywood since Timber Tower opened, so I can't say whether I would be impressed....after looking up the specs online, I will say that I thought they were a little taller. (Huss website claims height of 50 to 60 feet).

One thing that you have to consider is that Huss has them listed on its site as a "family ride." So, that could be the reason for the "fairly slow and dull" experience Kevinj speaks of.
