New for 2015

^ I think the rumor at the time was much shorter, like 500' or so.

Yes, but is it an Intamin pre-fab woodie?

Maybe they'll get my version of a Dark Ride. :)

^^ Please tell me you just didn't read the other posts where it was pointed out to be a Tweetup location hint. That has nothing to do with any plans the park has ever had other than Tony hosting a Tweetup for prize giveaways.

Let the games begin 😜

^^Thanks for the info, didn't make sense to me other than being a pic of the Matterhorn. My palm to forehead, doh!
(other post deleted as to not cause confusion, haha)

No worries! Just wanted to make sure we didn't get stuck in an infinite loop there. :P

Cedar Point's new ride in 2015 will be thrill ride aimed at teens and other hard core thrillsters, rather than a family-oriented ride, said Jason McClure, the park's general manager.

And this is why CP is known as an adult thrill seeker's playground and why many families put off taking their kids to the park until they are at least 48 inches (not unlike a visiting family who asked to us about our passes and how it wouldn't be worth it to them at this point). There are cheaper kiddie parks to watch your kids ride or parks to ride most rides together.

Cedar Point added a couple great family attractions this year. Just today, they announced Beach Blast, a family fun activity that takes place every Friday-Saturday. Cedar Point isn't the best park in the world for families, but they have certainly added to their entertainment and ride lineups to rectify that.

Left 4 Dead music. We play on the hardest difficulty and I've died enough times to know the game over screen music by heart lol

I doubt it will be a dark ride.

I think a dark ride can be officially ruled out, at least in the sense we were discussing in the "In the Dark" thread.

Here is what is interesting to note.

On one hand, we know that Jason McClure has stated previously that Cedar Point's next coaster is already in the works. Now, that could still be 4 years away...but when you factor in the notion that Gatekeeper was not exactly planned for Cedar Point in the first place, it makes a new coaster more of a possibility.

Of course, "thrill ride" does not mean coaster, but we can't rule it out. And of course you could have a thrill ride built in the dark...like the Crypt at Kings Island.

Oh the possibilities. :)

I thought the Twitter picture meant that Super Himalaya was being boarded up like it was being moved or taken out. A simple answer would have been enough, but apparently two pages of insults is more of the authentic Pointbuzz style.

The AquaTrax comment is a long-running joke around here. It wasn't directed at you personally, so much as it was (I think) directed at the general habit of folks who jump right to posting something outlandish without doing a bit of research first.

A helpful hint - when you looked at Tony's tweet, you could have easily checked the context of the post, and you would have found that he had left a list of clues totally unrelated to a new project announcement. That probably would have taken less time than posting here, and it would have saved you from the perceived ridicule.

I was actually just going to comment that no one posted a single insult.

You got off easy...the new kinder, gentler, authentic Pointbuzz style.

Not sure where the perceived insults were. None were intended here. :)

With all of the Dark ride rumors, does anyone still think of the possibility of a new coaster for 2015 (with Blue Streak midway revamp) that would stretch to the Cedars/Marina area and take out some existing rides like Turnpike cars, etc. You know the rumor that was floating around last year about the Perimeter Road shift?

BTW(!)no insults meant toward you by me either. Sorry if anything came across that way. All's good. I WOULD like to know what the heck's going on around the P Pavilion, haha!

I think Carowinds is getting the Coaster this year. I'm not expecting a new coaster until about 2018. With marking around Point Pavillion, it seems that the Blue Streak midway will get the revamp for 2015. And Jason M said that 2015 will be a thrill ride. It could still be a dark ride, but I'm thinking the old pirate ride building will be demolished.
