New "Ultimate" Lighthouse Point Sites

I would absolutely look for another hotel, a tower of some sort, to occupy the rest of that land. I would not look for it to be in the “best” category though, but standard Cedar Point stock. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if due to the proximity to the campground and the fact that there’s a distance to the park that rates would be somewhere below that of Breakers.

I don't know if proximity to the campground and distance from the park are necessarily negative factors. Something Wilderness Lodge/Animal Kingdom-esque would fit nicely back there. Obviously on a smaller scale, but still, a "rustic" beach resort would round things out nicely.

And hope springs eternal.
Actually, I’d agree. But the new campsites are, in my estimation, no great shakes. Mind you, I’m not an RV camper and never will be. I suppose there are extra amenities that campers would enjoy. But those patios, while better than sand, seem less than private and offer no respite from sun or heat. And the “enhanced landscaping” is really meh. I hate to bring up an old one, but maybe some columnar trees that stand a chance of growing into something shady would be nice. I’d hate to pay for one of those sites to only find myself in a back row, left to peer between giant RVs for a view of the lake.

But let’s go with it. Let’s theme, and I use the term loosely, the new hotel to the wilderness. Im all for it. I’m not sure what the exterior would look like- once again it’s seasonal and there’s harsh weather. The interior could feature natural wood furniture and pictures of the park shot through trees. But the rooms won’t be any nicer than what are found at Breakers or Express. To think that something like Wilderness Lodge would be on tap is encouraging, but by now we know how CP has treated their other properties. Their “Best” translates to “Nice” everywhere else.
