News: Cedar Point blog shows footers at WWL site

I picked up my pass yesterday and drove around PR and took a good look at the WWL site. There are a lot of footers in place and they do stretch into the old Swan Boats pond. All of the trees are gone, but honestly me personally doesn't see what they can fit into that space. It really isn't to big by coaster standards, unless they do another mantis type ride where they shove all the track they can into a limited space...we just never know.

Could you tell whether the pond had been filled in or drained?

Vekomas arn't that bad. Just the boomerangs are. There are plenty of good rides made by vekoma.

And their Giant Inverted Boomerangs have a record for the most valleys on a single ride I believe. From what I read, Vekoma has built two great rides in at Disney, Rockin Roller Coaster and the new Expedition Everest.

Remeber, X-flight at Geuga is a Verkoma. That's a nice ride. Althoigh, if it's a flyer, it might be a B&M.

DBCP, I was there yesterday and also took a drive around there. And as far as I could tell, the pond was drained. But that doesn't mean that there isn't any water in it, because it was kinda hard to see with the large amounts of dirt around it.

Some other things I noticed, were that all of these footers by the pond were all connected with yellow construction tape with orange flaps dangling from it...couldn't tell ya what that means, I just noticed them.

Lets see, Oh! And around where train tracks have been pushed closer to the road, I counted 3 or 4 somewhat large holes in the ground with bracing wire in them, meaning that concert would be poured in them in the near future. I also notice quite afew footers that were still covered with many blue traps around them, but from the uncovered footers that were near the tracks (that were like literally 6-8 feet way from the tracks) they looked like they would hold a somewhat large steel support(s), so this means that we aren't going to see any wood.

Lastly, and what I found interesting was that some of these supports were double/side-by-side while others were single/alone.

That was about all I noticed. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a common sign of a B&M? :)

As much as I want to say 'yes,' I'm just going to sit back and watch.

OK the booth that was removed, is it the one that was out in the road, or the one that was there tot he parking lot tot he left? Not sure which one was removed :)

The one that was actually on Perimiter Road.

I went up and saw the WWL site today after I got my pass. One thing that I noticed was that they have dug this kind of moat like thing in the ground. I'm not sure if it's significant because it looked like the just dug it up to put in electrical lines and things like that. Also on a side note the laser show screen is back up.

The "moat" you're referring to is likely for electrical, plumbing, etc.. as you mentioned. Here's the one they dug for Skyhawk.

I get a feeling that we'll know more around July, or about halfway through the season.

The "moat" could be for drawing water from the bay (ala Thunder Canyon) to supply some type of water ride.

The tape and flags are likely there to prevent people from walking into/near a hazard, such as a hole or similar obstacle.
