Opening Day Ceremony

I'm planning on riding MF opening day, and recall reading somewhere that there is a ceremony just prior. I was wondering, in the past, how long it lasted. I also wanted to know how many people are camped out at the gate on the opening day with a new ride premiering. Do I need to be at the gate by 7 AM. Also would the marina gate be the quickest to get back??? Sorry for all of the questions.
The Marina gate is the quickest to Millennium Force. I have heard from some people at school who claimed that they got at CP at around 5:30 in the morning when both the Raptor, and Mantis first opened. But these people also told me that both lines were 8 hours long. Then someone explained to me when Raptor opened how the ride was like. The person had no clue, everything was completely wrong. The person said that you go straight down the Raptor hill, and then go upside down. They didn't even mention that it turns and then goes flying down the hill, and into the loop. After I saw the Raptor for the first time I knew that the person was lying.

Mantis How Much Can You Stand?
Mere mortals won't be as focused on riding MF as those who post on this site. That said, I have a hard time believing that many people will be at the park pre-daybreak. We'd planned on being there by 8am to be ready.

If you order tickets online (one-day passes) does that get you through the gate quicker? I don't see 8 hour lines, though I'd expect a mad dash to the MF entrance.

I think there is a 20 minute ceremony at 10:00 am (though not sure).
If you order the tickets ahead of time it's quicker. That way you don't have to stand in line just to buy the tickets.

Mantis How Much Can You Stand?
True, but I have coupons from Cedar Point. I'm not sure I want to give up $12 coupons just to save a couple minutes.
I hear ya, rebelmse. Im still contemplating on whether or not I should get tickets in advance or use the coupons which are alot cheaper.
I can tell ya one thing, the Ohio State Spring Band (not the real Marching Band, but the closest thing to it) is planning on being there for the ceremony. I don't know how 'Fight the Team' or 'Buckeye Battle Cry' will fit into the Millennium theme, but hey, ya never know. I'm just glad that I get to ride MF a week before they do--just so that I can rub it in their faces!!

Since you can not walk along Perimeter rode, You will have to park in the Marina parking lot. I am not sure if you must be staying there though. Luckey I am staying at the Marina. :)
GO BLUE!!! MICHIGAN!!! I sure hope we can park in the Marina parking lot, that would make it so much easier.

I've been told that only people staying at the marina can park in the lot. Pet Chek 'customers' sometimes would do this and it's a no no, but some do it anyway. Not sure if this applies to just the 'marina' parking lots in close proximity to Pet Chek, though.

You can easily avoid walking on perimeter road if you do park in the main front lot. Just cross the road (by PetCheck) and walk a couple lots up and you will be at the crossing to get over to the entrance.

How early is everyone lining up to get in?
I'd get tiks from AAA for that day. You save $9.50, and you get them in advance. If you don't have AAA have a friend get them for you. Also, I'm not sure when they open up the parking lot. My guess is as good as yours, but I'm guessing around 8AM. Who knows???
I would recommend getting either a season pass or buying tickets early. I know we can buy them at some banks around our house and even the city ticket office (not sure of the exact name), they sell the tickets at a discount which is not as good as your coupon but it will surely save you time!

PS--GO GREEN!!! GO WHITE!!! GO STATE!!!!! :)

2000 Millennium Force Ride Operator!!!
First tickets, then my rant. I saved a considerable amount of money last year with AAA tickets. We got there around 9 and got 3 quick rides in on Raptor (waited only one train for the front seat). Also, I just wanted to back my boys up at Ohio State! Buckeyes forever, Wolverines never!
Sad Smiles,

Do they have you training already? If so could you let us know what your impression is of the MF running?

Thanks
I will be watching for people to start parking. Then simply walk to the gate. I don't think that it will be over there. People will probably run to the line first thing, and I do mean RUN. I figure that if I am in at least the first 1,000 riders I will still wait in a shorter line than the rest of the day. All I want is one ride and then I will hope to fit in the rest of the smaller coasters (I guess I should be more specific) while everyone else is feeling the Force. I am guessing that it will get to a point where people will not wait any longer. Then a ripple affect will go over the park. The rides closest to Millennium Force will fill up first, then farther and farther until, A. their are no more people or B. Their are no more rides/attractions. It all depends on how long people wait. I have seen waits at Disney parks go well over four hours (no joke). Cedar Point is much better with lines though and I have never seen a line go over three hours.
