Platinum pass problems.

I have a kings island platinum pass, and ran into all kinds of problems yesterday.

First off, I got to the toll booth and they scanned my pass only to have it declined. After arguing with them for 10 min, they finnaly let me thrue and told me I had to visit the season pass office. After waiting in the season pass office, they checked my pass and said everything was ok and that it should work at the turnstyles.

Next, I go stand in line for the turnstyles only to find out that it was declined again. They then directed me to guest services to go wait in another line. When I arived in guest services, there was a line of about 10 people having the same problem as I did.

A manager that had no clue what they were doing did a lousy job of trying to brush me off as having a pass that I did not pay for. First off, the pass was good(I upgraded it last year at kings island)2, I had already used the pass 3 times this year. Then he tried telling me that last year and this year, that if you have a platinum pass from kings island that you had to go thrue guest services to get a ticket.....Not true. Last year I had the same type of pass and went right to the turnstyle at the park. This guy had no clue what was going on.

They made it look like it was our fault that the pass was not working right and tried laying the blame on us several times.

So after a lot of arguing and missing the morning ert because of it, they finaly just gave us comp passes so we could get into the park.

Later on in the day on our way out, we stopped back into the season pass office to see if the problem was fixed. And they finaly admited that there was an issue with the computer system in the morning that prevented a lot of pass holders to use the passes.

Now I understand that it was opening day and there was some bumps in the system, but to try and lay the blame on the pass holders is just wrong!

Did anybody else have any problems using there platinum pass from another cedarfair park?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Not surprising with all of the other problems on opening day.

I have a CP platinum pass and it worked just fine at KI.

I really hope they have this fixed because I have a KI platinum pass that I will be using to get into Cedar Point come tomorrow.

I really wish people would just take the blame sometimes and say "You know what, even if I don't know where the problem really is, it is probably a problem with us" and then solve the problem. Later in the day if it turns out it actually was your problem then they can take that knowledge and feel good about themselves by doing the right thing by the customer either way.

My KI platnium pass (purchased this year) worked both at the parking gate and at "secret enterance #3" yesterday.

That is good to know. Especially since I have always used "secret entrance #3" since 2003.

I have a Michigan's Adventure platinum and had to go thru guest services at KI last weekend. Had a MIA platinum last year and had to go thru guest services at CP also.

#3 isn't by any chance *CENSORED!!*, eh? ;)

Shhh, don't tell anyone.

Edit: they're on to me. They know I know what they don't want me to know, you know? ;)

You only find out about the other gates by being shown them by the "Secret Gate Keepers". It's almost like Harry Potter or Fight Club.

First rule of the secret gates is:
You do not talk about the secret gates.
Second rule of the secret gates is:
YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE SECRET GATES.

You just have to get lucky to know one ;)

I seriously did not know until the 2003 season when one of my buddies was like "Wait, you go in the front entrance? NO, no, no, you have to go in this one." He promised me to secrecy and have only shared the secret with three other people since. The problem is if everyone knows then the power of the "secret entrance" is lost.

haha :)

I found out while riding a certain roller coaster, on the lift up my brother and I were talking about what parking lot was below us and who got to park there. A helpful person a row in front of us informed us that the answer was anyone who wanted to. It came in handy the next year when I went for the first time without staying at a resort.

My friend and I had absolutely no problems at all yesterday with our Kings Island Platinum Passes at CP (parking, gate or perks).

Don't hate me for having a KI pass. I still consider CP my home park. It was just the couldn't wait to be processed at CP... Diamondback was calling me.

I processed my season pass at Kings Island for their opening day to ride Diamondback, and although I had to fill out a little bit of paper work at kings island because my Platinum Pass was bought through Cedar Point, it only took 5 mins total to get my pass and go in the park.

I had no problems yesterday being scanned in at the Magnum entrance gate, or the parking booth via the one road that goes by all those houses and stuff.

I also had problems with my KI Platinum pass at parking and ended up just paying 10 bucks so I went to the season pass office for them to "fix" my pass and get my money back. I'd have been more annoyed if I wasn't planning on parking up front at first anyway.

However, the pass still didn't scan at the gate and they had to print me a ticket in the office off to the side of the Soak City gate.

I really hope they get their act together and figure out the problem because it'd be nice to not have to deal with that every time. I have no plans on going back to KI anytime soon. If they want to reprint me a CP platinum pass I'd be cool with that, but why do I have the feeling they have some "policy" against doing that.

We'll see what happens next visit.
