Question about 1999 season and MF...

I have a question. Did anyone know about the frog hopper ride when Power Tower was built? Or about woodstock express?

My friend just told me that Cedar Point is putting in a "MF Junior" coaster. I guess it's not much bigger than Jr. Gemini as he says. I was just wondering if maybe they will suprise us with a Jr. Millennium Force, although I kinda dubt it.
They would have announced it, after all, it would have been the 15th coaster since they count junio gemini in there...
CoasterMickey, CP did tell people about Woodstock Express. But I didn't know about Frog Hopper even though a wrote CP during the winter and they sent me all this info on Power Tower but nothing on Frog Hopper. The junior MF is probably just another rumor.

I remember when I called about the day CP opened that year, (before it did open) they had a recording saying there new attractions, and they mentioned power tower and the frog hopper

I doubt there will be a Jr. MF.

But something in this thread sparked a question in my head:

Ok, Cedar Point is going to have the record amt. of rides, right? Well, isn't some Six Flags park adding rides to make the total count 75 or something? I just wonder what Cedar Point is doing for these extra rides and what they will be. I hope this wasn't brought up in some other post.

It was brought up, but if I remember correctly someone, not the park itself, was counting individual water slides and every other thing they could think of, including food stands.

Cedar Point is careful about what they claim... they will have the record with 68.

I guess some people just don't do humor, but at least he spelled 'Millennium' right.:)

I can see CP putting in a junior MF sometime in the near future, but if they do it's probably already planned out.
This is going to be a long and boring time till May

Remember line jumping is NOT a sporting event.
I heard a crazy rumor, the rumor was that cedar point was going to put in a monorail to transport its guest from Sandusky (before the bridge) to the park. They would do this because they are running out of space to put up other rides, and don't want to build into Lake Erie because 1. The condition of Lake Erie and 2. Lake Erie Freezes and could harm the metal. Any Thoughts

I would love to see some smaller coasters at CP for next year. I think if they can get more kids, that will just make it more of a vacation spot.

How many rides does CP currently have? (As of the '99 Season?)

P.S. - Jeff I finally got Photoshop 5.5! My dad found it at work and never knew he had it till today! lol :)

Not gonna happen. Monorails cost a good amount of $$$. Why do you think Disney doesn't hook up their whole park with monorails? Exactly. The price is too high. CP has room. It may not seem like it, but there is. But I imagine eventually something will happen to the parking lot or something in the long future.
Cedar Point has space. They're not NEARLY as tight as, say, Kennywood, and I still believe even Kennywood has more space than most people would think (even w/o touching their picnic pavillions); removing the Steel Phantom for "space reasons" is only part of the story there...

I knew the monorail thing wasn't going to work For 1. It would take a really long time to get 30,000 or so people that go to Cedar Point 2. The $$$ and 3. All the maintenence of the monorail, what I ment to get across was they would have to do something to the parking lot in order to get new coasters to fit inside the park the near future; What do people think will happen to the parking lot and possibly the transportation of all the guests. Sorry CoasterMikey.
I am not saying that they will install monorails, but I imagine they will in the future use buses and probably reward those who park in the away lots with free parking or lower ticket prices to get people to actually use them.

Don't count on it happening anytime soon, though. CP has plently of room for new coasters, and remember they don't get a new coaster every year and usually things are taken out for new coasters. There will be plently of room but as with anywhere they will eventually run out of "usefull" room.
