Raptor Question

I was at Cedar Point on August 31 and was inable to ride Raptor. Did I miss much? I have ridden Alpengeist at BGE many times and it seems very similar. What do you think?

Raptor is the best ride in the park. =)

Thats a shame Droo, Raptor is my second favorite inverted (first being Alpengeist) Raptor is much more "fast pace" then Alpie and has a fantastic finale (extremely powerful helix.) It joins Magnum and MF as coasters I could ride all day.

Aw, I wish I could have ridden it. I enjoy Alpengeist alot and would like to ride more that are like it.

It is a great ride, but the line is always horrendous for it. Was the line too long?

Hmm. It is indeed a toss up between Alp. and Raptor. What sends Alp. over the edge for me is the theming. Best two inverts in the world, IMO.

Of course, show up any operating day (not night) at Dorney and you can walk-on to Talon (Raptor's little brother) over-and-over-and-over again!!

Which is good for what it is...a 6.5/7 to Raptor's 10!!

There isn't a coaster at CP I don't like. But there are some they I CAN'T miss when I'm there. Raptor is one of them.

IMO, Raptor is a little better. Alpengeist is great, but the helix at the end of Raptor is an awesome element. Maybe I like Raptor better because I am only able to make it to Cedar Point once a year, and BGE is the park closest to home.

100% agreed. And that line moves; that is, even if it horrendously long, it keeps moving. Always one of the best crews (efficiency wise) I encounter on my trips to the point.

I'm a big fan of Alpengeist. The first hill and the Immelman just blew me away the first time I rode it. Raptor is a fantastic ride too, but I like Alpengeist a little bit better.

They have been in previous years, but not the case with this years crew. Horrible stacking on a regular basis. Still a good ride though.

I'm going to continue to say that the bins and easing up on what loose articles can be brought through the line is a huge slowdown. It seems like everyone is carrying a suitcase and flip-flops with them around the park.

Bins have always been there, and the past crews have always dealt with it very well. There's just no hustle in this years crew it seems.

I've seen more 2 train operation this year on Raptor than I have ever seen in my life. And a lot of those days had nothing to do with it raining or anything like that either.

Just look at the ridership numbers listed on the CP website. Notice a trend? Does it have to do with park attendance figures? Probably, but it also probably has to do with the crew not performing like ones in the past.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

First, I didn't get to ride it because it was broken down... something about the lift hill chain. Second, Campbus, Whats up? Long time no see.
