Reasons Cedar Point is going downhill

Thats because we were too busy working at the park to notice haha.

I know a back route that is fool proof and extremely fast. It saved my butt many times when I was working there. However, if I told you all I'd have to kill you! :-)

I don't believe the city of Sandusky has much say in what happens to 250, as most of this route is in Perkins township. Besides aren't state routes maintained by the states?

250 is actually a U.S. road, thus the reason it is called U.S. 250 and doesn't have the state of Ohio around it on signs. I can't remember where all the funds for the different roads come from at the moment, but you do bring up a valid point about Perkins.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Your right and wrong.. I so agree that you have to treat your guests like they were gold . you should , your in the entertainment industry. I agree that saying that gas prices and the economy are very lame excuses for non performing attendence numbers. But I have been visiting Cedar Point For many years, And It far from a park on the decline. I have stock in the company ever since it went public and It Makes thousands of dallors. But you do have the up front exsperience for working at both cedar Point And Disney Waht really goes on behind the scene. Great thread..

Indeed. Spell check is just that, not grammar check. For that, you're on your own.

I would like to say that I think the city of Sandusky has a lot on there hands in the summer.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn on 5909 Milan multiple times and it has a pool side bar which is great but I have seen people get sick by the pool. There can be a large amount of dirty towels around and tables that are dirty or people sitting around them getting toasty.

Cedar Point's resorts do try and overcome many of these obstacles I think. But they have spiders that seem a little out of control in the summer.

The dining options on-site are not bad but you are hard pressed to want to go there after the park when the wait is easily 45 minutes and you can not even sit at the bar.

I think they should continue restaurant partnerships and consider other dining options. I have looked and Ohio doesn't have many Qdoba restaurants. Now I would not suggest eating a burrito (over 1 pound...) and riding rides, but after the park closes it would be great to have a restaurant that comes in under $10 per person including a drink that can serve meals quickly and offer something we all like.

250 is pretty bad with the stop and go traffic. It reminds me of the town I live in (in Michigan).

The bus systems that hotels offer you are alright but they are a little slow and over crowded. A monorail would really be cool and I think that it is a great idea if Cedar Point had resorts that were built around the monorail. What would a monorail serve?
Castaway and Breakers Express and maybe a third "generic" spot ?

I think Cedar Point is just stuck with what they have to offer as you won't see them dish out millions in infrastructure upgrades surrounding the park.

250 isn't that bad, it is just annoying as the road is beyond capacity for 4 hours every day in the summer.

I think that if there was a way that could divert people to a Cedar Point ferry located downtown and build a large parking garage to house the tourists vehicles.

You could offer breakfast / dinner on the ferry and make bank. In fact I think there should be extra characters in costume on this ferry as well. It would really kick off the family feeling I think. In fact this ferry would be a great floating Subway or something like that. A quick fast sandwich you can take with if you get the sandwich even when the ferry is arriving to CP. *** Edited 11/30/2007 11:10:45 PM UTC by factory81***
