Red Cross Riders 2007?

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around in a while, but I have kept up to date with construction of Maverick. Just curious if anyone knew if there would be another auction this year as there was with Skyhawk last year. I know that I haven't heard anything but just wondering if there has been any talk about it. Thanks!

They have been doing it for years. IIRC, it at least goes back to Millennium Force. I can't imagine why they would stop now.

I can imagine Tony is probably doing it again this year. I think he's done it every year.

If you mean Tony Clark, then I'd have to say it's been going on longer than he's been at the park.

I would love to be one of the first riders but refuse to donate to Red Cross. True, all groups and organizations have their controversy, but Red Cross seems to always be looking out for themselves before anyone else.

Example - Both my grandpa and great uncle were in the marines. Red Cross would sell them stale doughnuts and bad coffee. Salvation Army would give them good doughnuts and coffee.

When my mom was growing up a tornado went through the neighborhood. Several houses were destroyed. All the men of the neighborhood got out their saws and helped clear away the wreakage. All the women brough out food and helped comfort and take care of the kids. The red cross came along, told everyone extra they could go home and then went to help the victims - by charging them for food and other things they needed.

In the weeks after 9/11 more blood donations were coming in than ever before and Red Cross was getting more publicity than ever. They kept calling for people to come out and donate blood and didn't turn anyone away. They were hitting records for blood donations. A lot of this blood went bad and was thrown away because it was not needed. They just wanted to keep breaking those records.

I have herd the exact same thing about the Red Cross from my two grandfathers who served in the army. The Red Cross to them now is a joke.

I've always found the Red Cross to be very helpful in the situations I've been in.

No, he is talking about Tony that posts on here... the one who rides Millennium Force a lot.

So how much would you guess it will cost this year... Does anyone have records of what mill. and top thriller costs were?

I think I remember Top thrill having a top bid in the $1500 range, last years top bidders for Skyhawk were around $500 I belive.
