Ride wait time boards

Well, I don't remember those cell phone apps using braille....

The point is that everyone at the park with functioning eyes can utilize ride time boards. The same isn't true of a smartphone app.

Yes, the boards would be an extra expense, but in the scheme of things, they're a trivial expense. The park probably spends more on mulch every year.

Busch's parks have apps, though I hear they aren't great.

That's offensive to me, and you aren't qualified to have an opinion if you haven't use them.

But if he'd used them how would he be qualified to gossip about them? :)

This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!

Why are you offended, Jeff? Have you had a part in their development? :)

What do you think?

Oh come on Jeff, we all know that if you put anything out there — an app or website or what have you — somebody out there is just rearing to put in their two cents... :)

If I wanted to walk around, I could just go the walking track at my local metro park.

But what if you wanted to walk around an amusement park?

If I wanted to watch shows, I could go to my local theater

But what if you wanted to watch a show with all the Peanuts characters, or Mickey Mouse, or Bugs Bunny?

If I wanted to drink, I could go to my local bar.

But what if you wanted to have a beer while watching people pass by the midway-spanning corkscrews of Corkscrew?

Not everyone goes to an amusement park just to ride rides.

I like to walk along the beach...

I tried the unofficial app this weekend and it was pretty accurate.

I'm going to try and use it the rest of the season.

Wow I have to say I'm pretty shocked after reading some of the posts on this thread. I have used the boards at Universal and I can tell you it made my trip much more worth my time. For all of you saying, what other reason is there to go to Cedar Point than to ride rides? Do you know how stupid that sounds? I'm sure that's why they have all the shows they do, arcades, games, dining, etc. because no one goes to a park to do these. As others have said, some of my best memories are of doing non-ride activities. Not everyone is there to do marathon riding. I for one think it is way too much work and not enjoyable at all. Another point that many probably have not thought of...people like myself that have a permanent injury that sometimes makes walking very hard. It would be really nice to be able to see what rides were closed or long waits before walking all the way to that ride. And before anyone says if I have an injury I shouldn't be riding, yes I should, I know medically what I can do and my major issue is a lot of walking, so for someone like me it would make a lot of sense to have these things posted. Please don't take this the wrong way but some of you really need to re-read your posts and realize how rude you sound to others. This board is supposed to be about something fun and when people are jumped on for stating their opinion it becomes not so fun.

Why does it sound stupid that someone might go to Cedar Point and not ride rides? The only ride my mother has ridden in the past 30 years is the Giant Wheel, and yet, somehow, year after year, she always has a good time.

It may seem stupid to you, but you are hardly typical of the average patron.

Everyone here is entitled to their opinion. If I don't like the other activities, I just simply choose not to do them. If you don't like going on rides, fine. But those are the main draw for me. CP isn't holding a gun to our heads forcing us to do everything in the park.

Noggin and Thabto....that's exactly what I was trying to say, that everyone is entitled to do whatever they want with their day at the park, but it seems like there are individuals who are being rude to people that are not marathon riders, the point I was trying to make is it sounds stupid to think that people only go to the park for the rides. Yes, that is my main purpose as well, but as I've gotten older I've found I like people watching, quiet moments, and some shows, Cedar Point or any other park for that matter would not have these extra activities if people were not utilizing them. Sorry if I was unclear in what I was trying to say.
