Ripcord - A thrill Ride?

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts on Ripcord are? We've had discussions on prices, but how do you feel the quality of the ride is? Personally, I'm in LOVE with Ripcord. If Ripcord we're human, I'd propose today. I love the rush of lifting off the ground, and the anticipation of knowing that in a matter of seconds, you'll be plummeting towards the ground, praying that the safety harnesses do their job. I also love the view of Lake Erie from up there. It's gorgeous. With two Ripcord Stations, it would be nice if one gave you a view of the park, and the other gave you a view of the Lake. So, what are your thoughts?

I'm too sexy for my harness!

I also love Ripcord but i wish it was more pleasing to the eye. Other then that i love the feeling of dropping and not being able to feel the cable pull you until what feels like the last possible second then soaring over the midway and looking down at the people watching you and you start to feel the adrenalin kick in.

It's a ride that every coaster enthusiast must try at least once.

So, does Ripcord pack a bigger punch than the Roller Coasters? I definetely say yes!

i find it hard to compare, I get a different kind of rush from Ripcord then I do coasters.

Ripcord is definitely a unique type of rush that you don't really get on a coaster. And yes, the views of the lake are incredible from the top of the towers. I really miss waking up to that several days a week during test flights.

As for making the ride look better, personally I'd love to see the lattice structure painted black and lit with red LEDs at night.

I've always said that the ride should be painted..I don't even care what color. And lit up better.

It use to have lights that ran the length of the arch. That is what those little black boxes are that still sit within the structure. I have seen other Skycoasters that have LEDs that outline the arch and I personally don't like the look of them.

This is the newest general thread on Ripcord, so I used this to find out if anyone knows the capacity of Ripcord.

I have ridden the ride once, with my son. We weigh about 430 pounds together.

We are going with our family, and me and my son want to take his uncle on the ride with us for a total weight of about 650 pounds.

I know it says up to 3 people on the website, but it doesn't say how much each person can weigh.

I personally am not worried, but I have to put his uncle's mind at ease somehow that Ripcord can handle our weight just fine. :)

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Cedar Point's Guest Assistance Guide says:

"Maximum recommended weight limit 850 pounds per flight."

I don't know the exact capacity, but at Banshee media day, they opened their version of RipCord. There was about 20-30 people in front of me in varying group sizes. They only used one load/unload area and I waited over an hour to get on. Totally worth it though

Walt is right, 850 lbs per flight. Although there's not exactly a scale or anything to verify. Generally, any flight large enough to exceed 850 lbs would probably have all fliers in black flight suits, and last I knew, CP only had two black suits.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

You made me go and check my video of our ride, and both me and my son were wearing orange flight suits/harnesses.

I assume there are different colors for different weights and heights of the riders then?
