Ripcord

Who all has done it? How tall is CP's version? I was at SFoT last week watching people on our skycoaster and since then I've been getting a real bad urge to do it. I would like to do it at CP since I don't make it up there too often and I want it to be even more special when I do it the first time. Also, do they sell videos of your ride and if so, how much?

Jason
I flew on Ripcord once, and it was awesome! I've never been so terrified on the way up, but it was definately worth it. I would fly on it again in a second. The 'stats' on it I'm not sure of, though.

Ripcord is 152 feet high and you come within 6 feet of the ground. Your speed can be anywhere from 60 to 80 MPH, depending on the weight of the fliers (the heavier you are, the faster you go). You can have anywhere from one to three fliers at a time. Videos are taken of your flight - last year's price on the video was 14.95 (if you buy more than one, the price for each was discounted - but that's handled by merch dept, so I can't tell you too much more about that). The price just to ride Ripcord went up this year, so the video price could possibly go up too. BTW I stopped counting my flights after number 289 (three years of test flights can't be wrong). Christy, I'll never forget the look on your face when you figured out I was serious when I asked you if you wanted to fly! I think all the blood must've drained to your feet!

New prices for Ripcord are 30.00 for one, 22.00/person for two, and 15.00/person for three....

This year will be my first time. I promised my cousin I would ride it w/ her. It should be quite an experience.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?" (as stated by my best-friends about CP)
I flew for the first time last year. Took two of my friends. Both are coaster maniacs but were scared as crap before they went on. Niether will go on now but I would go again in a heartbeat.

I've done it about 6 times, and it is a great experience.

I'm hoping to get a bunch of flights in on Coastermania (awesome price) so if you need a third flyer to get a good price, let me know.

I never did it, but my husband did, and we got the tape also. And I would have to say, I dont think I could ever do it, Power Tower was enough for me!! My luck Id pass out on the Ripcord! It made me nervous to watch him do it! His mom actually fell to her knees and screamed when she watched her only two kids do it (my husband and his sister) took her a few mins. to get back on her feet, she was so scared for them! So on this ride for now, I would have to say, Ill pass!

The more you ride it, the more you want it!

I am an avid sky-diver, but have yet to try it.. It looks like its a blast though! Maybe I'll go for it this year.

Been there. Done that. Not doing it again even if they pay me. It’s the first attraction CP has ever had that I have no desire to do again. Give me the major coaster any day. I know, I know, different strokes for different folks. = : ) =
I have done it. I did it by my self. It scared the crap out of me. I thought that i was going to die.
But it was a very cool experence.

I can't wait to ride Ripcord at Coastermania. It sounds awesome. I plan to book my flight on opening day May 13th. *** This post was edited by Scooter on 3/24/2000. ***
Is Ripcord really worth the money you pay?
I have been on ripcord many many times and it is awsome but there is more fun than thrill it's like a big swing i think that the down side of Power Tower scared me alot more due to the fact that you do not know when you are going to drop and on rip-cord you due since you pull it yourself *** This post was edited by Phillip Bernard on 3/25/2000. ***
Before I rode Ripcord, I wasn't so sure if it was worth the money... after I rode it, I think its definately worth the $15. (I'm probably would be too chicken to pay the $30 for one person anyway) I think the most scary part of it is when you are getting pulled up and you are leaning slightly forward. Carrie, do you remember me telling Deana whatever you do, don't move!? I thought I was going to fall if she did!
